Which Amsoil and which HPL?

Wish they made a Signature Series High Mileage 3.4 hths oil. No qualms with the SS line, but the lower tiers are just being counter to what they mocked the standard synthetic of being. Royal Purple in that category too with their Dexos line and the rebottled Kendall from Redline.

Mocked? I thought we all moved past the base oil picking.

I use Amsoil SS motor oil 5w20/0w20/0w30.
Also use HPL PPCMO motor oil 0w20/0w30

All your missing is some Redline Si-1 Fuel System Cleaner, a Royal Purple Oil Filter and a 5 gallon of Sunoco Race Fuel

In 99k miles, I used a LOT of Amsoil in my 2001 S4. Not all Amsoil though. I did use dealer fill for covered oil changes, Total once or twice, M1 a few times and GC one or 2 times. Always 5k oil changes. My A4 that I got rid off also used mostly Amsoil but I think I used T6 2 times.

If/when I ever get my S4 back up and running, I have a bunch of cases of M1 to get through that has been sitting in the closet for years before I get back to Amsoil or HPL.

I have used Amsoil in all our Hondas for over 25 years. The wife's 2018 GDI-Turbo (diluter engine) is the first one I do not use it in.

This is only for Amsoil or HPL users. If you use Amsoil, which engine oil do you use? SS, Hi Mileage, OEM, etc. If you use HPL, do you use PCO, PCO Premium, Super Car, etc.

Not concerned about viscosity. Not concerned about OCI’s. Just interested in what us “oil nuts” use.

As a group, do we use the bottom, middle or top end of those 2 brands? Just those 2 great brands. Amsoil or HPL.

HPL PCMO basic as well as HPL CK-4 15w-40 for my diesel zero turn. Great stuff. All extended drain intervals.

We run HPL PCMO Premium Plus, HDEO Premium 5w-20, 5w-40, and 15w-40 Cold Climate. All are extended drains. I just sent 5 samples in yesterday. 500 hours on a John Deere 6.8L and about 50,000 miles on gas motors. I don't think there will be any reason to change any of them. We'll see what the data says.

I will be sending in a ~23k mile sample of 0w30 Supercar from my truck this week.

That being said…. HPL Supercar for me.

I used Anson in the past when I was doing 200 to 400 miles a day. Now at 5k a year I use HPL Euro 0w-30

Ive moved on from it with the box store oils because its a price point market filled with everything being dexos rated and limp wristed zinc swill. I love seeing the Amsoil, HighPerformanceLubricants, Redline, Penrite and others in peoples signature and pictures. If boutique oils phase out or cant find that market its possible all we will have to listen to is @TiGeo on Liquimoly or @tig1 about Mobil 1 and that would be okay, but there are better products out there and I am thankful for that!
