Which Amsoil?? (AME or DEO) for 2005 Ford PSD??

OK, hate to

but, in regards to 0W40's or 0W30's, do you figure that the HDD stacks up just as well in regards to cold weather operation?

My thoughts would be:

0 weights would sheer more.
0 weights would start better.
HDD oils are needed for Diesels.

But let the Pro's tell you how it is....maybe my thoughts are inline with theres?

I have been trying to decipher the kinematic viscosity charts and info to compare XD3 0W40 and Amsoil 5W30 HDD, but to no avail. I have been using Esso XD3 0W40, but chose to go with the Amsoil HDD 5W30 as I have Amsoil everywhere else in the truck. The Esso starts great in the cold, but how does the amsoil stack up to it? My Blackstone report should be in soon for the Esso, but like I said I want to use Amsoil. Gets pretty cold where I live and quick flow is a must.
