So as the title states, which oil would you try? It’ll be awhile yet but eventually I want to try a 0w-30 instead of 0w-20 which is required and see what a used oil analysis shows. At this point I’m debating Pennzoil, Mobil 1 ESP or Amsoil Euro 0w-30. Open to others if readily available near me.
For a little background, we just purchased the vehicle and I plan to do a couple early oil changes and then try some used oil analysis comparing factory oil and filter, off the shelf Castrol and other filters. So I should have a good baseline when I try different weights.

It depends what is your priority - brand, price, or availability.
As far as I know Pennzoil has only one 0W-30 oil and that is Platinum Euro LX which I've never seen anywhere, but you can order online on walmart.com. for about $7.50 per quart.
Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 is always available at Walmart at about $28 for 5 qts, but often is low on stock.
Amsoil Euro 0W-30 - you have to order online or get from oil boutique store. Not sure how much is it, but you can get it cheaper on amsoil.com if you're a member.

Maybe in the VW once my current stash for it is done but not yet in the Volvo. I don’t see 0w-30 for Valvoline anyway and I don’t want to jump to 5W-30.

One thing you need to remember is the manufacturer's oil requirements. A warranty claim could be denied if the dealer suspects you've used an oil that doesn't meet the manufacture's requirements.
