Hey guys. As the title says, I'm looking for an oil drain bolt that has an oil temp sensor in it. It's for a 2005 Civic. Anyone know where to get one?

Also, what all do I need in order to install one of these puppies? The sensor and a guage, I assume. But, is there anything else?

I've never heard of such a thing mounted inside an oil drain bolt. Any reason why you can't tee one off the oil pressure sensor hole? I've also seen oil filter relocation kits that have a hole tapped in the base for a temperature or pressure sender.

Lots of answers if you google it.

VDO is one manufacturer: http://www.usa.vdo.com/generator/www/us/..._sensor_en.html

I made my own by drilling and tapping a hole in a drain plug. It was on a 83 Olds 307 and a 77 Pontiac 400-it was fairly accurate, but not worth the trouble IMO

Maybe some have 90 deg connectors?

But if you have a drain bolt that's already positioned horizontally...?
