I'll go to Walmart if I'm in Calumet city or Pepboys down the street.

Ray's Music Exchange is in Cal City...

Is Pizza Pete still there on Sibley Blvd?

I love Autozone. I especially like their Duralast line of parts which are good quality and have lifetime warranties on most parts.

I rarely buy oil at Murrays, but bought loads of clearance oil at AutoZone a year or so ago. One thing Murrays has that is unique is quarts bottles of 10w30 HDMO (Motorcraft).

When I stocked up on Maxlife and Durablend SL a while back, I bought most of it at Pep Boys on their weekly specials where it was running under $2 a quart.

I agree with Al that it's worth paying a bit more at a place that takes your used oil, or at least buy something from them. I quit taking oil to Murrays when they started making me take back the empty bottles.

I'll check next time in the area. Sorry it took so long to reply.

I shop mostly at AA because it is around the corner and the guys treat the customers well. I will only shop at WM as a last resort.

WM is the last resort, because I really hate the Wal Mart store experience. AA, PB or AZ are pleasant, since you can exchange semi-informed lies and prejudices wrt to any car topic with the employees. You can also actually get some good advice, after running the verbiage through the #@$%! filter. This will never happen at Wally World. If you can get any advice from any employee, nothing of value is left after the #@$%! filter.

In November, AA had BOGO on PP or QS. PB had a killer coupon + rebate on either. Wally World had neither. So, no, Wal Marche is not the least expensive place to buy oil.

I always go to Wal Mart. Parts stores around here have a horrible oil selection. Sometimes they will have something I want, but only one or two quarts of it. That does not do me any good since my truck needs five. Wal-Mart always has plenty of good oil.
