To be fair there is a lot of construction and changes I understand things are hectic and I know soon they are changing the air line system completely but everything in the shop is back burner because the fronts most important to them. It's definitely a deal of the sales dept is by far first priority. Also I can't understand why they cannot get one or 2 air hoses from the parts store for us to use in the meanwhile . Just amazing to me. You would think you would want your techs happy not ready to scream at everyone during the day. It's not just me we are all on edge.

This situation is very familiar to me, from the other side of the table. I know other people who own repair business and buy repair business.
You're being abused. Period.
They've come in there to spend as little money as possible, and wring as much out as possible. They're straight self-serving scavengers who have no idea about how to run a repair business, and don't really care. All they understand is that they have purchased the ability to write people big invoices for service. They don't care how you get it done, or what you get it done with.
They aren't going to get to a point where they appreciate you. You're just one of the Morlocks toiling underground to make them money.
Your resolve as a man is being tested and crushed.
Find yourself new employment ASAP, because as soon as they find the subservient idiots they really want working for them, you are out.

I like the idea of leaving the good scan tool elsewhere. "Forgot it at home, had to scan the wife's car." It's nice to loan stuff out, but now they expect you to do so.
I'd start looking around. Once you start taking random days off for being "sick" (yet coming in the following day 100% well), well, if the management is competent they'll put 2 and 2 together. If not, only another sign that it's time.
Just make sure to keep your scan tool with you when you're not in the shop!

Go drop your resume off at 1 shop each day on your lunch hour and just ride it out. Can you throw an adapter on the hose line so you can put a cheap hose on one end so you always have a dedicated air hose while everyone else shares the other hose?

How about working at the Dodge dealer where you bought your Dart from? Not all shops are the same. Go on Yelp.com and see which shops get great reviews and apply there. If they treat their customers well they likely treat their employees well.

That's an excellent suggestion IF many or all of the shops in his area are poor ones. If there are already lots of otherwise respectable "fish" in the pond, its going to be hard to compete.

Rent, taxes, utilities, various insurances, licenses, EPA red tape due to used oil/fluids, business liabilities, etc....
Its nice to dream about owning a shop, lots of headaches. A family member has a shop and its better to have a good paying job / benefits without the mountain of financial debt. Be a mechanic for local PD or Fire Dept and be a county employee.

Id start looking no doubt. Does not mean you have to leave until best thing comes along.
