And I mean exhaust not stereo. I am still trying to decide myself. On video I love the Ferrari F50 and the Enzo but I have never heard one in person. I love the sound of the Porsche air cooled 6's. And of course the Mustangs with the right exhaust. I would have to say its between the muscle V8's and the Ferrari V12's two totally different sounds and Im not sure which one I like the best. JMO of course.

1981 Olds Omega, it was MY first car

Second best, its hard to beat this...

A good demonstration of "getting on to the cam"...

any big block chevy w/ flowmasters.

although, I was quite taken w/ a G35 I heard some time ago, just taking off from a stop, it sounded incredible, nicely tuned.

This is going to sound absolutely crazy, but I've always loved the sound of any car powered by a GM 2.8 V-6 from the 1980's. That engine, even in something like a Buick Century, actually had a raspy snarl that sounded a lot more menacing than it was....

One of my neighbors has an s63 AMG. It sounds awesome.

Probably the best sounding cars I've heard are Mercedes AMG v8's. This guy launched beside us (and we were in my other neighbor's 08 Z06 Corvette), and it sounded unbelievable. My neighbor with the Corvette said he needed a new exhaust right then and there.

There's a guy who lives within a few miles of me that I've heard driving his porsche carrera GT. That thing sounds like an F1 car or a superbike. It's an unreal sound that as it's coming closer to you. It's like nothing you've ever heard on the street before.

Best 6 cylinder sound are the nissan's/infinity's with the vq35. Nissan has some of the best sorted factory exhaust sound for a mainstream manufacturer of performance cars.

Best 4 cylinder sound in my books is the honda s2000 with factory exhaust. I did a track day, and one of these was there. It sounded alot like the 2002 Corvette that was also out that day. Hard to believe I know, but that's what everybody said.

Worst exhaust sound from the factory. e46 BMW M3.

All of the above, just one guy's opinion.

That's what was in my Omega, I had the carbed version so it didn't have alot of jam but it was smooth and fitted the car well I think.

I'll 2nd that. Ford small block with an x pipe and flow through mufflers. Flowmasters sound good as well.

Basically any V-8 engine with an x pipe in the exhaust.

That's why IMO, Mustangs sound better then Camaros from the factory.

That is gear head music!

I really like the sound of my 4.3L v6 in my S10. Just a factory exhaust, but it has a good sound, a little bit rough and raspy when you juice it, yet not too loud or overbearing at any time.

Im sure the 350 sound is as good or better, but oftentimes it is overdone, IMO.

I like to hear the exhaust note a little bit - not hear it as the overwhelming sound...

Any small or big block Chevy with a high lift cam and a lot of lobe separation.

A well tuned 4.6 or 5 liter Ford Mustang with a good free flowing exhaust (not Flowmaster).

There's a guy in my neck of the woods that drives a Lamborghini. I don't know which model, but it's new. Anyway, I've said it before and I'll say it again: That car taught me what people mean when they say 'exhaust note.' I could listen to that thing forever.

Second would be a big naturally aspirated V8.

The Lamborghinis and Ferraris I've heard all sound like a whiny high-pitched crotch rocket. I prefer low-pitched exhaust notes.

The best sound is probably the hybrids before the IC engine kicks in. There is nothing better than silence.

Nissan 350z has a very nice tone for a "regular" car, but the Ferrari F430 Scuderia sounds the best! We see a few other Aston Martins and Ferraris at work on occasion.
