We get a few stinky cars in at work....farmer's utes, smokers, doggy smell,or just plain filthy people.I have to drive a dozen or so every day in my inspection role...not nice.

So I had a Mazda MS-6 in today,it was a bit smelly, and I had to drive with both front windows down.It was a very familiar smell,I've smelt it before.I couldn't find the centre rear belt,it looked like it had been cut....although I didn't pull the seat squab out,I fumbled underneath to try and find a loose end.The rear windows didn't work either....one of the other guys had a look and they had been disconnected.

Talking to the customer later she said it was her uncle's car - ''Y'know, the guy who was murdered a couple of weeks ago?'' Ah yes,I remember now - they found him a week later....in his car. They had to cut the seat belt to get him out.

AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I remembered the smell - I used to look after body transfer vehicles for a Funeral Director, sometimes they would smell like that.We were all running around screaming when we found out! Oh man, what a nasty trick. We got the groomer to fit the seatbelt....and made sure he knew what had been in the back seat.Rank has it's privileges.

A creepy not very nice experience.

Luckily, it's winter time at the bottom of the Earth. I can't imagine how bad it would have smelled if the body was left in the summer heat in the car.
