What's everyone's favorite 0w-20 these days?

I don't use 0W-20, but after seeing some comparisons and analyses, I recommended M1 TSUV to my sister for her Corolla. I had recommended another M1 product to her, but the updated info had me change my mind.

This choice is based on my sister's car and driving habits. Were they different, I might suggest something else. So, what I'm saying is that to recommend an oil without knowing the vehicle, the engine, and conditions of operation, may not result in the best choice. Has the OP provided that information yet. That info was lacking in the original request.

Does it claim any cleaning?
I just found this on Mobil 1’s website. A little vague but kinda points to cleaning.

Wow! so many awesome responses thank you all!! to answer, what engine it is going into: a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander with a 2.4L i4 SOHC -- simple smallish japanese engine, doesnt burn oil or make any funny noises hehe. I've taken good care of it since new, i had a nice stash of oil for years, but eventually went through it.

I like the Magnatec recommendation, I remember using that in my other car which I sold last year, but I can't find it in 0w-30 on amazon, only 5w-30 and it's 40+ per jug :/

Re M1, I like their TSUV oil and used it in the past as well, maybe I'll give it a try again if I find it for a reasonable price. Whatever I go with I'll likely stock up on so I don't have to shop for it for a while again...

I also recall there was a QS 0w-20 that had really low wear numbers, but I don't recall which exactly it was or whether it is even still made or reformulated... aghh i feel so behind the trends in oil these days!

The only vehicle we have that specs 0w20 is the Wife’s Jeep GC w/ 83k. I’ve used several different brands since new, have currently been running different flavors of Valvoline the last 4 oil changes. I’ve got one more jug of Valvoline EP left for it then I’ll probably try Napa 0w20 in it for a few (which is still Valvoline).

Could just be in my head, but the 3.6 which is generally/naturally on the noisy side seems to run quieter and smoother on the valvoline.

Wasn't a Ram with that motor that racked up 600k miles on 0w20? I woudnt worry.

honorable mention to PUP 0w-20 or Valvoline EO HM 0w-20. the valvoline is my go to for most vehicles off the shelf but i’m also still fond of PUP. however, the 5w-30 is on the light side of a 30 so i normally go to 5w-30 pup in older Honda/nissians. the wife’s accord burned Valvoline terribly while the PUP did much better.

I hadn’t seen that but I don’t doubt it. There’s a few flaws that pop up but there’s been over 10 million of this engine produced. A lot of those are in the Promaster & sprinter work vans that get abused. Not to mention the mini vans and fleet vehicles that get less than stellar maintenance.

I did 6k OCI’s its first 60k when she was doing longer trips to work. When we moved and her commute dropped to about 15ish minutes I dropped the OCI down to 5k. It’s a 2021 and paid off beginning of next year so hoping to get a few years of no car payments atleast. Or until she gets a new car itch 😂

A fellow Uber driver has a beatup Grand Caravan with that motor. Says he will drive it to the ground lol.

Being a broken record here.

Any off the shelf top line is good. Or is it that one way up top, the top of the shelf that you cannot reach. Yeah, that one.

Plot twist— You press the red button to call over an Associate, but no one ever shows up.
The quickest way to get someone to come is to try to climb up on the shelves. Someone comes right away.

I'm not recommending that approach, but that's what I'm told.
