My wife has stressed very seriously to me this year that she does NOT want me to waste money on roses or candy. So, I went out at lunch and bought her a diamond heart pendant.

I was just curious what you guys are getting your sweetie.

Valvoline!

I'm letting her beat on my Yaris for another year. We're moving in on the first of March, so we can't afford anything fancy (although, she did buy me the movie "Shooter" with Mark Walhberg.

I baked her a cheesecake. Shortbread base, a layer of blueberries, lemon flavored Quark* filling. Tart, not too sweet, not fat. The 10" cake is good for 8 slices.

But that's just a little thing.

It was cool, so I did the steaks in the new cast iron skillet she bought me.

Heated the olive oil and butter mix until it began to smoke, dropped the seasoning in the pan, and seared the steaks for two miniutes, seasoned the top and flipped them for another two minute sear and put the whole skillet in the oven at 400 for another 9 or 10 minutes and they were the best steaks she said she's ever had. Rivaled any steak house she's visited.

The Red Velvet cake was a hit with butter cream icing dyed pink with dark chocolate hearts decorating the cake.

I used red twizler candy rope as decoration at the bottom of the cake as well.
