I found this HDEO wich bears the price tag equivalent to a cheap a semi-synth. (priced between Castrol's Magnatec and GTX3). Here many HDEOs never list the gasoline specs they could meet.
5w 30 is the preferred viscosity per the manual, but my conditions also cover the 10w 30's scope easily, weather rarely drops below freezing point. I'm considering it since it meets the API SL. On the low side I read some "nightmares" about such high TBNs, big ash levels etc. about HDEOs. But, then again, it meets the SL and A3.
The current problem of my mind is that flame point, which looks too low when compared to any oil out there. Looks like it meets many specs, claims it is synthetic-based but then, why such a low flame point?
Do you think this oil of any good (for a gasser) with slight extra price than the GTX, or should I pass on it?
Here's the translation of its specs.:
