What was your (reasonable) dream car as a teen?

I grew up in Southern California when lowered mini trucks were all the rage. I always wanted a lowered late 80's-early 90's Toyota standard cab truck. In fact, there's a stock, black, 5 speed example around the corner from our house and if it ever goes up for sale, it will be in my driveway and I will live out my childhood dreams (even though my wife would mock me).

Any old mopar really, ened up with a really nice 72 charger from out west completely rust free. Wanted a 69/70 of coarse but the 72 looked great after I had the right wheels on it. That car was so reliable, I never had to do anything to it.

1965 to 1968 Mustang fastback. But ended up with a 1965 Galaxy 500 2-door with a 289 ci V8. Bigger back seat worked out better. ☺

I own it now.

My 96’ Jeep Cherokee 4x4 4.0L.

It was my grandpa’s that he bought in 2007 when I was 12 years old. Was owned by the Arizona Department of Transportation from 96’-07’. Learned to drive in it. Always dreamed of owning it and I bought it from him in 2016 when I was 22.

I dug out my old MacBook to find this pic I took of it about 10 years ago in September of 2011. Still looks the same, except the tires are slightly bigger and the windows are tinted now.

Mitsubishi 3000 GT

When my daughter was young she thought that BOOOGT was a funny name for a car. The type style make the 3 look like a B to her.

My dream car was and is a '63 XKE convertible. In my teens in the '70s they weren't expensive for a working adult. My reality was I was into motocross and had a series of junk vans and trucks because the bike needed money more than a nicer ride. My parents had no clue how dangerous a '67 GMC dog box van was.

Imagine this van beat to snot, same color and porthole. A wonder I'm still alive.

Would have been some form of 78-79 Ford truck or a 92-97 Ford truck. I’ve owned several of each. I have a Laramie Longhorn on my wish list now but gotta build a house before that can happen. I was born in 96 so my taste is a little more modern.

When I was in HS, I would have given my left one for a 77-78 Firebird Formula, especially with a blower sticking through the hood.

I worked for a Chevy dealership changing Bias ply tires for Radials if the aftermarket guy could sell them to the customer. He had a 67 Metal flake Blue Vette with the 327 and 4 speed manual. That thing was my dream car. He let me drive it once to pick up lunch and I fell in love. Even though I had a 65 White Mustang with black Top but it only had the 200ci 6 with a 3 speed manual.

This was not mine, but I had one mostly alike... Mine had Cragers instead of these much more classy wheels. Warmed over 302 and top loader 4 speed. Like the dumb kid that I was, I took it apart and never finished my "Thunderbolt" project. A few years later I sold it to some even dumber kid.
