Chris142's recent CB radio post got me to thinking...

What was your CB handle?

Mine was "gas jockey". Given to me by a co-worker who was big into CB radios. It reflected my job at the time, service station attendant (not gas station, service station). I'm chuckling to myself, bobistheoilguy is probably the only place where I could be proud of that!

So, what was your CB handle?

Sleepy Pete - Given to me in the early 70's because I liked to sleep, drove in a cab over Pete, plus pet are the first three initials of my last name. Plus back then my nickname was Pete.

Night Owl. I would drive 1240 miles round trip on weekends to see an old girlfriend when I was in the service. Would be in the dark both ways.

When CB first came out you needed a license. Mine was a tempory one. The tempory one was your initials and zip code. MCL92308 was mine. Soon after I got the tempory one they got rid of the license requirements.

I've had a couple of Handles. Our locals are pretty onery so I had handles that were not PC.

Now my friends know of me as Chris and the locals on the CB know me as Claimjumper.
