Going to Asia next month . last time i went was almost 30 years ago. This was before the internet and common computers and tablets . Flying United. So what do folks do on these long flights these days . is there free internet ? Just keep watching the movies? Going to be a fun and interesting trip

Fully concur if one wants to be entertained- downloading movies, etc is a good course of action.

Upgrade your seat as much as you can afford, wear compression stockings and bring lots of work/reading materials. Watch movies, read and sleep.

Spring for lie flat business class if possible. I flew non-stop to Johannesburg from Atlanta, 16 hours, in business. I never would’ve made it had my seat not reclined flat with my lower back at the time.
I had cocktails and dinner, watched 2 movies, slept for 4 or 5 hours, watched another movie or two and had some more cocktails. I think most planes will have in seat entertainment on flights that long.

I recently went on a flight across the USA, NC to CA. There was free movies streamable on my phone. I watched Avergers Infinity War, and Avengers Endgame, respectively, to and from. Very nice. The last time I flew long continuous distance was in 2004, on a military C5 if I remember right, or maybe a c17.........slept nearly the whole way, aided by a bit of liquid. What a smooth beast that was.....the plane not the drink.

I normally fall asleep before plane takes off, developed the habit when had to travel for work being on the road 2 weeks every month for 6 years. Another habit I developed is I wake up when they serve food. So I basically sleep, eat, repeat. The longest non stop I've been on was 14 hrs I think.
Bring a Kindle. Thousands of free books available on Amazon. Sleep. More reading. Arrive.
I bring a couple of paperback books on long flights.
Ambien and noise-canceling headphones.

definitely do not shower 48 hours before, and be constipated when boarding
Definitely get up walk around and stretch. A lady on a 13 hour flight recently ended up with blood clots sending her to the hospital upon her arrival. A coupon of long movies and a loooong nap.
Agree with the use of compression stockings. Get up every hour or two and walk up and down the aisle. You want to prevent DVTs.
Stay well hydrated. And remember that alcohol has more punch at altitude.
