What times of year does Walmart have best motor oil sales?

I'm specifically interested in buying Valvoline Restore & Protect and Quaker State Ultimate Protection Full Syn on rollback sale or other sales.

I don't need any right now, but my next OCI on 3 cars will be mid July 2026. I'd like to stockup next June or early July 2026 for mid July annual oil changes.

Does Walmart have good July 4th sales?

Sounds like you're being too particular on specific oils that you want to use to count on nailing a screaming deal on it. Last year (2024) walmarts did some significant inventory reduction in Feb/March, but products on clearance differed from store to store...then nothing in 2025. Best you can hope for is manufacturer annual rebates or ebay triangulation scheme pricing if you're that dialed in to what you plan to use.

Or maybe AAP dangles some carrots out there this winter for you.

Something about a gifted horse's mouth or beggars being choosers.

If you were less picky you'd jump all over this and spend your mental bandwidth on something more fun for the next year: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/castrol-gtx-5w-30-amazon-15qts-50-46.398343/

I have never seen Valvoline Restore Protect or Quaker State ultimate protection on sale around here at walmart. Seems like mobil and castrol is on sale every few months.

They don't have sales that are going to save you some huge amount of money, their rollback promotions are usually a dollar or two off of a 5 quart jug at most. If you want to save a few extra box just look for rebates but otherwise I really don't know how much money you're expecting to "save.". If the normal price is $25 is it a really big deal if it is on promotion for $24 instead?

Last month QSUPFS was on rollback sale for $20 for 5 quart jug. This month QSFS is on rollback sale for $20 for 5 quarts jug.

Last month Valvoline Maxlife was on rollback sale. At the time, I was not thinking about VRP.

Trying to save money used to be a necessity. Now it's more a hobby/game. QSUPFS 5 quarts jug regular price is $24. Last month it was on rollback sale for $20.

Times 3 jugs for 3 cars that's $12 or lunch. Plus the satisfaction of feeling like I scored.

It's only a score for me if I get what I want. Getting something other than I want would be Walmart scoring on me.

I agree with @johnmyster if your looking for deals your being too fussy.

It seems they raise something from $25 to $28 then they "rollback" to $26 a few months later. This seems to be Walmarts way of doing a price increase. I have seen this now with M1 and Valvoline ultimate - or whatever the long life variant is.

What I am hoping for is now that were seeing SQ you might find some clearance SP stuff. That happens - I ended up with a nice stash of SN+ a few years ago.
