Nice to see that this has been moved to the off-topic section, since it has gone off-topic.

I started this thread IN off topic section to begin with - :)
(it was never MOVED here)...

i agree though - it did get off topic when someone couldn't understand the page numbers - it was difficult not to correct him.

will update as soon as I find the cause of the "bouncy/harsh" ride.

NO - I want to swear but I cant!!! What was the tire pressure as you checked it? All these pages and we still dont know the bleeping tire pressure! It better be like F33/31R - any more and ride will be wicked hash.
BTW, dead shocks will be soft and bouncy not harsh. Maybe a strut spring became dislocated.

Wellllll, I did mention that i checked TP, but not the numbers I guess - They were where i had them when the ride was NORMAL so i thought that would be enough to show that it is NOT tire pressure related! but as you need numbers, they were 32 fronts, 30 rears.

My theory ..since you're not normally a "tire gauge" person (
grin2.gif
) is that your tires were in the low 20's at the time of the service. Unknown to the shop owner, one of his plebes took the liberty of checking your tires "to look busy" while screwing off before lunch. It registered on no ones radar. He fills them to the correct pressure.

You then pick up your car and your former "boolyvad" ride is more akin to someone setup for Fast & Furious.

Gary: The Tbird NEVER had a "boolyvad" ride - perhaps the normal Tbirds do - but the Sport Option equipped Tbirds have much stiffer springs and different shocks than regular Tbirds, and sway bars, etc - so the ride has always been sportily FIRM, but NOT HARSH and Bouncy-like.

Hehe - No thanks; I am not a fan of those things.

Yeah; my 1st car in the US was a 1988 Chevy Caprice Classic with the 5.0 (prev. owner: wifey's Grandma) and it WALLOWED on every turn, and made me nauseous every time....

and that's the reason I looked everywhere to find a Tbird which had a the sports package - i have driven regular Tbirds, and the difference is NOT small...

If you had bought a Cordoba ..you could have approached both bullyvad and curve with confeedence...

Richardo always said "Bullyvard" so well.

I ground the 2x4 to tiny pieces by driving to Greenville yesterday;)

seriously, with all this suspension [censored] I have forgotten to mention how GOOD the car feels otherwise after replacing the 3 cats and the front O2 sensors: feels like new - great acceleration, idling and responsiveness ... hoping to see an increase in the MPG, too...
2 bottles of Amsoil PI will be there soon, excited to use those, too...

and of course, no CEL :)

dang, I think I am due for an oil change - totally forgot it ..current oil has about 6,000 miles (Motorcraft 5/30)

OK - so I go to get some gas and there's one of my buddies there checking HIS tire pressure and says "the pump is still running, wanna check yours?" (air is not free at that gas station).
so although I had checked the TP with my little pencil gauge, i think "what the heck" and checked them again:
the pass. side front was LOW! like at 26! idk why; either I didn't check it correctly before, or what...anyways, I get both front back up to 33 and rears 30,(they were all ok except that one tire) and drove home and felt MUCH better - i know, it still doesn't explain what had happened, does it? (or could it? idk)

I only drove a bit after that, so I need to drive it a bit more to see if it's FULLY back to what I was used to before - Tomorrow I will be driving back to Greenville and back - about 200 miles round trip - and update again...

Thanks for all the help -
sorry, didn't mean to create "drama" but I am not very mechanically inclined and tend to freak out a bit.

IMO, the difference between 26 and 33 isn't large enough to explain the symptoms that you initially described.

Besides, I'm guessing that you were low on air even before you arrived at the repair shop, so if it were to make a big difference, you would have noticed it before.

True - that's why I am still not convinced what it is...

I am now beginning to think that (Like several on this thread suggested) when they put the car on the lift, something happened to the shocks due to extending to max. and then now it's getting back to normal? idk... i will just have to drive it more, and if i still feel weird, i am gonna go have them check out shocks and springs ... if i DO need new shocks/springs, I might as well lower the Tbird a bit...
