What States Are We From?

Born in Dayton, moved around Southern OH the first couple years, been here In Lima since~1982 (age 3).... was down in Nelsonville for about 6 mos in the year 2000 ( failed college attempt), ~2.5 years in Columbus in the early 2000's (Aug 2002-Feb 2005) but other than that right here in my hometown...( Not Counting Vacations, etc.)
Dad's Family has been here since the early 1800's.
Mom was Born in Oakland, CA, grew up in China, Idaho, Seattle, and India. ( Her Parents were Missionaries, for every so many years over seas, you had to spend a year stateside...) Most of her family lives around TwinFalls, ID.
They met at College in McPherson, KS where they Married, and had My Brother in the late 60's.
He (Brother) Lived In the DFW area from the early 90's until 2016, when he moved back home.

My better half has lived in the same house her entire 37 years...
her parents are another tale:
Dad was born in Jersey, Moved to Bellefontaine, OH in his Adolescence.
Mom Grew up in Rural Iowa & Nebraska.
They both went into the Navy, met/Married while stationed in Hawaii.
came back and raised 3 kids in the sticks of Rural OH...

l free to ignore... but just out of curiosity, what made you go with Nashville, as opposed to Say, UNOH, here in Lima? ( well known Auto/Diesel program, and Motorsports program)
I've worked retail over they years with Students there from all over the country, several of whom chose UNOH over places like Wyotech, etc. (one flat out said, because Wyotech was literally in the middle of no where, it was like an hour drive to the nearest walmart)
I am in no way affiliated with the school, just curious.

Virginia my entire life. Southwestern part thankfully. Kinda wish I lived closer to states with MLB teams but oh well I like it here. Peace and quiet. I really don’t know where else I’d want to live maybe Midwest since I’ve got a lot of family out there. My dad was born in Richlands Virginia and my mom was born in Manhattan Kansas. When I was born and till the time I was 3 we had two houses one in Roanoke Virginia and one in Tazewell Virginia they sold the house in Tazewell in 2005 and moved up here full time for my dads job. Tazewell is a nice little quiet town near West Virginia. Don’t get to see my family in the Midwest or Tazewell a lot unfortunately so if I was to move I’d consider moving closer to them.

Born and raised in Ohio, lived there for most of my life in the quiet at the time, but now very sprawling northeastern suburbs of Cincy, same as my wife. About five years ago we moved to just across the Ohio/Indiana border just west of the airport. If you've ever flown to or from the west out of CVG, you've probably flown right over our property. Great place to live, its safe, cheap on taxes, traffic isnt bad, you get a lot of house and land for the money, and even with the planes flying over, its remarkably quiet... its just too far away from our friends, our families, our favorite hangouts..... I've been a tad vocal about maybe moving back to the east side of Cincy, more like 20-30 miles outside the loop.... while my wife doesnt act enthusiastic about the possibility, any time we're over that way visiting friends or family or whatever she'll say something about missing that side of town and "maybe someday we'll look at places over here again" and similar comments. I have seen her on her laptop looking at property or houses on Zillow and other sites so I know she's entertaining the idea, and our kids have been begging us to be closer. I couldnt be more thrillled but I'm playing it cool-ish until she gets more vocal about it.

I know Ohio isnt on the short list of states where the cool kids in the US would choose to live, but if you were born and raised there, its home....

Always lived in Gloucester county when I was a kid and well into being an adult. Been living in Williamsburg for 13 years now.

Gloucester county is welllnown for being the daffodil capital… CBS had a show On the Road with Charles Kuralt… He actually did a segment about Gloucesters daffodils and the Hall family. I never saw that episode on tv when it originally aired. I actually just saw that on YouTube a little over a year ago. That shocked me to see a national tv show segment about Gloucester county.

I miss Gloucester because I miss the people there. A whole, whole, whole lot of come here’s in James City county and Williamsburg.

Born outside Cincinnati, still call it home, then moved to FLA as a kid, then early 2000s moved to central PA. Moved for the better schools when my kids were little. Tried to move back to FLA when the kids left, too big of a pay cut but found a new wife who has lived in 1 county the majority of her life. So I am permanent until maybe if we retire and buy out West.

I was born in Portland and spent the first 5 years of my life in a town famously known for its abundance of Beavers . My family then moved westward to a scenic borough with hills and farmland. This place has transformed over the years but if you’re into high tech, the great outdoors, or would like to experience a sausage festival, Northwest Oregon has you covered!
