What oil is in your vehicle? Syn or conventional?

Why should I use synthetic, The oil was invented for extream cold or extream hot, I live in Oregon where its neither.

92 Jeep 4.0 Cherokee 1QT transmission fluid to 5 quarts Havoline 10/30 conventional oil Jeep has 245,000 miles on it and enterval changes between 3,000 to 3,500 miles.

98 Honda Accord 4 banger 1qt of tramission fluid to 3 quarts 10/30 Havoline Conventional oil Honda has 145,000 miles on it...why should I used Hyped up Synthetic?

I think some peole just plain over do it I get just as good of miles on my engines as do the synthetic croud...and save alot more money.

Amsoil Series 2000 but may stick with 3000 since it didnt do anything gas milage wise. EAO oversize filter. 2002 Tacoma 3.4L.

about 150,000 miles on the clock
It gets leftovers only. Most of the vechiles I service take 3.9,4.5,6.5 quarts etc.... I normaly buy my oil in 4-5 quart jugs at walmart. I also buy case's of Walmart 10W30 for old worn out lawn equipment. So when ever I have something left over I dump it in a 5 quart jug. That is what the Lasaber gets and it is usualy amix of various weights and GI,GII,GIII and GIV and GV. When I acutualy by oil for it I just use dino 10W30 in it for the most part. The engine is clean and runs just fine. It is easy on oil.The engine also leaks from a miss stamped oil pan that GM put on at the factor. It never leaks enough to show on the dipstick just enough to make the oil pan look crapy.The oil filter adapter weeps a little too. I have the gasket for it but seeing how it only weeps enough to make the oil filter look nasty and not enough to form a drip I am leaveing it alone. I did run two treatments of Auto-Rx on it when I bought it off Grandma at 109,000 miles.

GIII,GIV and GV oils are used exclusively since break-in
I currently have RTS 5W40 in it but the engine has seen mostly M1 5W40,0W40,10W30 and M1R 0W30. I ran Redline 5W40 in it as it's first synthetic oil change interval. I currently have 2 gallons of RTS 5W40 on the shelf and 4 gallons of VP Racing 5W30. I use Redline MTL/MT90 in the transmission. I can see into the top of the engine through the oil fill hole. It is as clean as new. The baffle is also as clean as can be and s is the oil fill cap. Ny UOA always come back looking good.

Oh I did not answere all of the questions.I chose dino for the Lasaber because I plan on getting rid of soon and dino and left overs is more then enough for this engine. I chose to use GIII and higher in the Camry because I plan on keeping it until the wheel fall off. I need to keep the engine clean and do not like changeing every 3 months! The GIII was mostly about money. I like to use PAO and ester based oils but money has been tight for a while so GIII became good enough.

2000 Camaro SS - just shy of 60,000 miles. 0w30 GC. Doing my first 6,000 mile interval. I have been corrupted by BITOG. For my LS1 engine, I use the good stuff.

2004 Chevy Z71 - wifes car. This vehicle has just over 30,000. OLM is used for OCI (averaging about 5,000 miles). I run it down to 0% since I use "synthetic." I have been using ex-Mobil 1 5w30. Since this seems to be only a grp III oil anyway, I will be switching to PP 5w30 at the next change. Still a very good oil.

1975 International Harvester Scout. Mileage reported to be around 3,000 on a rebuilt 392 cu.in. The engine has been converted to run a GM tbi system but runs a little rich, I will be changing it every 3,000 or 1 year. It is my recreational vehicle, not my daily driver so I may make the 1 year mark first. This is where I skimp. I will use any 10w40 I find on sale. Currently Super Tech but I have some Valvoline for the next change.

1995 Dodge Dakota 318 cu. in. Aprox 130,000 miles. Even though this is my daughter's car, I buy the filter and oil and this one gets the same treatment as the Scout. Whatever 5w-10w/30 that is on sale. OCI 4-5,000 miles or as soon as she can get it to me after that.
