2003 Ford Ranger 2.3 Duratec
- Tech 2000 5w-30 full synthetic (grp. III)
- 5000mi OCI
- Truck seems to run more quiet, cheap as ________.

Car: 1997 Mercedes Benz E420, M119 V8 engine with 105k miles
Currently: Autozone coastal 10W-40 dino
OCI: 3500 miles
Type: cheap dino
Others: I just got this car and it had 20W-50 oil. I am running ARX and Techron so I'm using Coastal 10W-40 for now. After the treatment, I'm thinking about using 1. Coastal 10W-40, or 2. Rotella T Synthetic 5W-40, or 3. DELO 15W-40 HDEO

comments??

What oil is in your car? Havoline, GTX or anything on sale.

What oil change interval [OCI]? 4 to 5 thousand miles.

Why did you choose it? I prefer to stay with recommended OCI's. Dino oil is fine for my vehicles and style of driving and vehicles. No substantive data to prove synthetic is any better then dino for engine wear.

Do you think it is full synthetic, Hydrocracked synthetic, a synthetic blend, or conventional mineral? Conventional mineral.

Vehicle: 1996 Ford Ranger with the 2.3 Lima engine.
Oil: 4 quarts Delvac 15W40 1 quart Havoline 5W20.
OCI: 3 to 4K
Type: Group II possibly II+ and III
Reason: the strong add pack of the diesel oil and the fact my engine is all cast iron and the moly and high flash point of the havoline. And to try something different.

03 Dodge Ram 4.7
Running 5w30 supertech synthetic

Mobil 1 EP 5W-30.
Change every 6 months regardless of mileage.
Mobil 1 EP oil filters.
I chose it because of engine cleaniness and longivity.

Current oil-Castrol Syntec 5W-20
OCI-5,000 miles
Reason-I wanted somthing other than Mobil-1.Also Castrol Syntec is a great oil.Other people are using it with great results.
Type-Hydrocracked Synthetic
Engine-5.7 liter Hemi
Comments-I hope to run this oil for the life of my Jeep.I want to get atleast 200,000 miles on this engine using this oil.

Rotella dino 15w40 dino in my 2003 dodge cummins. OCI is 5k with 48k on it and doing fine. Exxon superflo 5w30 in the wife's 2000 malibu V6 every 4k miles. We are at 84k on the bu. Both seem to be doing very well. Rotella in the dirtbike every 10 hrs.

2006 Toyota 4 Runner 4.0L V6 (1GR-FE)5300 mi ODO
Mobil 1 5W-30
OEM Toyota
5K miles (For warranty)
Why? Hard to argue with the M1+Toyota combo.
Changed oil @ 1500 mi (GTX), 3000 mi (Synted Blend), 5000 mi (Mobil 1)

'99 Malibu: MaxLife 5W30
Why: Free After Rebate. Curious if it will reduce oil consumption.
Probably Group II/III blend.
OCI: 3000 Miles, about twice a year.

'93 Maxima: 5W30 QS Peak Performance.
Why: $1 per quart.
Probably Group II.
OCI: 3000 Miles, about twice a year.
I have enough left for one more oil change.

'05 Suzuki Forenza: 5W30 TropArtic Blend.
Why: Cheaper than many conventional oils. Good cold temp. properties.
Probably Group II/III.
OCI: 3,750 miles . . . about every 2 months.

Toro SnowBlower: 5W30 Citgo . . . leftover odd quart from when it was $.69 at Fleet Farm. Changed annually. Probably Group II/I mixture.

Toro Lawnmower: 30 weight mixture of a several partial quarts left over from previous oil changes and stuff I found when my in-laws moved.

Why: I don't care. It's a stinkin' lawnmower.

Note: I bought a bunch of TropArtic and eventually will put it in everything but the mower unless the MaxLife does something really amazing to my Malibu, which I doubt it will.
