What oil for a 65 Impala 327

What oil would everyone like to use for a 66 chevrolet impala with the 327 4bbl??
I am leaning toward the Rotella 15w40 what does everyone think??
It is a 66 not a 65

Depends if it is a stock engine or not.

I am running 20w50 Valvoline SynPower and some times 5w50 Castrol synthetic oil in my stock 318.

Now if I had a high lift cam, the oil would be Redline or Amsoil or Neo Racing oils.

Would it not matter if the engine has recently been rebuilt?
I'm thinking a 'new' engine to tighter specs, might do better with a lighter oil (provided Cam/Lifter protection is provided during break-in)

I build quite a few small blocks a year and they all run HDEO 15-40 from the start....Except the modified he's running redline racing

Oil with lots of ZDDP!

Another good choice would be Rotella 10w30 if your 327 engine is still "tight." Many Wal-Marts have Rotella in 10w30.
