What oil did you use before BITOG?

The same oil I used after BITOG.Mostly 30w or 40w depending upon application. The Major oil companies oils work well.

Before BITOG Mobil 1/ Amsoil

After BITOG Mobil 1/ Amsoil/ Pennzoil platinum

UD

More assured now that using SuperTech is not a bad choice and a good choice using Valvoline Maxlife transmission fluid
Use of Walmart filters now also a good choice but not probably for the small difference in price

Nine times out of ten the same brand as before. Just judge what viscosity/type (full syn, HM, etc.) to use a little differently now than before. Valvoline and Schaeffer's FTW.

Same thing I'm using now, several mechanics in the family from passenger car to heavy truck & tractor repair. Lots of advice over the years.

But what does Lewis say?

Maybe we can get some Russian oil cheap?

Before - Mobil 1, Castrol. Motomaster full synthetic

After - Mobil 1, Pennzoil conventional, Pennzoil PlatinumPP.

I've also learned that keeping your oil filter on for two OCI is a good thing. I've been doing that on the civic for a while now.

Valvoline conventional or Motorcraft. Motorcraft because it was cheap and Valvoline because I thought it was the best.

I used Pennzoil conventional for a few years due to this site and the results I got when I tried it. Now I'm back to Motorcraft because $2 a quart outta the bulk tank is hard to compete with.

Before Pennzoil conventional, Quaker State conventional, Valvoline conventional and Castrol GTX. Purchased Pennzoil and Valvoline Synthetic once in a while.
After mostly Pennzoil products. Yet I will not pass up a good price to purchase other product.

And may return.

Was considering Amsoil in 2004 for extended drains since driving upwards of 25k per year. After coming here and learning about extending intervals, then living for 5 years where I routinely parked my car in -20° temperatures, has been Amsoil ever since except for my most recent test of Schaeffer.
