What kind of box is this?

Can’t find any info on the box for a p/n. It’s just an outdoor “utility” box used to house gate electronics. It’s about 2’ x 2’. I prefer something with the side vents too.

Im looking for something similar to mount on a 4x4 post and to run power to.

You need something UL approved rather than a homemade or a utility box.

How about this RV outlet one? Or there are cheaper ones.

You could also just get a weatherproof outlet box similar to what someone would have on a post light for powering Christmas lights.

Are these weatherproof boxes? He needs weatherproof if he is just going to be attaching to a post outdoors.
