What "issues" do you just "live with" on your older vehicle?

You do know that AC can be repaired...?
My AC just crapped out on me, gonna wait till next year to get it running again, now I just drive in the morning hours before the triple digit heat fires up. Still running the R12 and the only shop that still handles R12 is an hour away. ;)

The annoying ignition miss in my engine. But I did find out what it was.

Seriously I am an ASE Master Tech , I engineer and design performance parts , have almost every tool imaginable in my field of expertise and have lots of bailing wire and duck tape so there is nothing wrong with any of my vehicles that I don't or cant fix and do!

1995 Miata: Minor gasoline smell (replaced rubber lines and tank, still smells), slightly grabby clutch when cold. (104K miles)

Couple of things ... I wouldn't have a clue as to how to program a new key, nor do I have any of the equipment I saw the locksmith use when he programed my current key. My car did not come with a transponder key, and I had to have the locksmith make it from scratch. It was time-consuming and expensive, although maybe now having a programmed key it won't so spendy for the second key. But I have no idea.

On our 2004 Camry the front driver headlight and bumper is all scratched up from where a guy swiped it trying to park in 2018. My dad is a cheapskate and kept the money. Made me and my mom so angry that he would keep money intended for a repair on a car. Not only does it look bad but it’s just plain wrong to pocket the money. So now I just live with it. I do plan to get it fixed eventually. My dad said he couldn’t see spending it on that but that’s not the point the point is that it’s wrong to pocket insurance money. Also live with no A/C on my truck and Beetle. The other truck has A/C but no power steering so I live with that too lol. Don’t bother me none on the A/C or power steering.

For my 96’ Jeep Cherokee:
Headliner is sagging. One day I’ll get it and the visors redone. The lower dash has a crack in it, it’s had a napkin folded into it for years, doesn’t rattle as much now. The paint is peeling in some spots, one day I’ll have it stripped completely and repainted. If I drive over 65 I’ve got a driveline vibration, I expect the transfer case but I live with it. Could also use some new door and window rubbers.

For my 00’ Camry:
It was totaled in 2016, the left rear corner is smashed. Meh. The rear strut mounts have clunked for years. Have new quick struts for it but it’s too hot to work on it. Could use some new motor mounts. Have those too but, again, too hot.

2012 F-150. Driver’s door ajar light on on start. I have to press a couple of buttons on the steering wheel and it goes away. $350 to fix ( about 7 years ago.). Perfect otherwise.

Why is that on Toyota? Our 2018 VW Tiguan they ordered new key cut and programmed keyless entry for it and existing one for $280. The key itself was $180.
If you already have one key, this is correct.
If you lose all keys and need to do an “all keys lost” programming session, well, enjoy.

'92 Acura Vigor 283k miles. Most things I can fix, or pay others to fix, are fixed. It doesn't leak a drop. Issue at this point is parts availability.

You need one master key to access the security module to add additional keys. Otherwise, you need a new module, program that, new keys, program those, plus the towing costs. Easily run around $1,000 after it's all done.

83 Silverado 230K miles
- No heater, been that way for the last 30 yrs.
- Tired suspension, need all new bushings.
-Wiring, have stop lights/headlights but no driving lights, strictly a daytime driver.
- Wipers that work when they want to.
Various odds and ends that only I know so nobody else drives it.
Waiting to take it to AutoMechanic. :D :D :D
Probably better than anything he has.

The radio in my DD still works perfectly...and loud, so no issues. 😂

2006 Acura TSX 6MT - 287k miles

Seriously though...release bearing squeals on high load 1st gear launches. Has done it for over 200k miles. The detent for the master cruise control button on the steering wheel is broken, so a piece of paper has been wedged in there for about 5 years. The driver door lock actuator is dying. It's 50/50. About 10 years ago, my brother in law was sitting in the backseat without a seatbelt on and I took a curve pretty fast. He ended up sitting in all three positions over the course of a few seconds and ripped the armrest out as he was sliding around. It's never been the same since.

Other than that, she's mint (besides aesthetics).
