But that's subject to change on a moments notice as I have zero brand loyalty.

I should add that tied for third place would have to include TGMO 0W-20, M1 0W-40 and MGMO Moly 0W-20.

You forgot RP 0w-20 and Delvac Elite 222 0w-30 in your tie. I thought you'd have a 10w-30 in there somewhere, too.

Hi Garak,

I think I have mentioned in the past that RP 0W-20 would be a top pick in a best of the rest in terms of OTC 0W-20's (although RP isn't really an OTC oil) aside from it's cost. But that would still leave about 6-7 oils ahead of it. That's still not bad considering everyone makes a 0W-20 now in NA.

Yes I like Delvac Elite 222 0W-30 a lot and recommend it frequently to my fellow Canucks who live out your way where it gets truly cold, which it doesn't in the Greater Toronto area.
That PAO based HDEO has a lower MRV than most 0W-20's so it's one terrific oil but I really have no "preferred" use for it.

There are no 0W-30's on my list although I use 0W-30 blends.
The reason is, no one makes a high VI 0W-30.

I used to be all about the top shelf oils but lately have been trending more on the value side.

1) PYB
2) Chevron Supreme
3) QSUD

All are relatively inexpensive, PYB starts with a nice TBN, Chevron I find on sale at Costco occasionally and QSUD is a good value for a nice syn if I want to extend my OCIs. GC was at the top of my list but the price has gotten to me a little so after my last few quarts, I'll move all cars to PYB.

M1, Pennzoil, Valvoline, QS, Delo, Rotella, etc, any of the name brand oils will protect just fine, assuming proper viscosity grade and API rating.

I typically use what ever synthetic is on sale at Canadian tire; right now I'm using M1 5w30. But if cost wasn't a concern then:

1. Motul 300v
2. redline
3. Royal Purple HPS

Ill probably start using amsoil since I drive a lot now.

Liquimoly long life 5w30 or Mobil 1 / Pennzoil PU or PP 5w20. Any oil that will do 7-7500miles and hold up is okay. Would like to try Neo Synthetic again and maybe Klotz or ELF.

Tied for #1:

1. Least expensive name brand dino I can find.
2. TropArtic (when I can get my hands on some.)

So far, Mobil 1. I haven't tried the "exotics," but my wife's 2010 Nissan Sentra is quieter with Mobil 1 than it was with Royal Purple SN. Probably meaningless, but it's probably meaningless for me to have a favorite oil.

I was a big TropArtic fan but since Walmart dropped it I can no longer find it anywhere else in my area.
