What is up with KIA?

Stop using Supertech, I noticed excessive oil burning with that oil, tried it once, never again in a Kia.
Switched back to Pennzoil and it's almost nothing.
Supertech high milage is the only one I’ve found that doesn’t burn like crazy :D

At her next OCI, I’m doing another piston soak, cylinder 3 seems to be the main culprit for our burning issues. After that, I’m going to run some Valvoline restore and protect. I’ve been down the whole EC30 thing. Nothing made a difference except for the piston soak with the ACDelco top engine cleaner.

Interesting, shows to prove same oil can act differently in diff cars, even if same make and engine style (I think they made design change in 2017).

I was very interested in a Stinger GTS but the dealer horror stories soon convinced me to look elsewhere. The suits at KIA should have known that you couldn't successfully sell an A4/3 Series/C Class competitor out of a dealership where you needed to take a shower after visiting it.

Seems like they're making premium looking ,featured cars but having major quality issues. Kinda like Nissan of 10 years ago.

Don't let good looks deceive you . It's what's under the hood :). Did us with the '18 Accent . Do like the way it rides and handles along with the split back seats and deep trunk . Last , the oil filter , drain plug , cabin air filter and engine air filter make for easy access for maintenance .

Everything else is easy to fix to, I could probably do a timing chain or head gasket in a couple of hours. Just did all 4 GDI injectors on my 2016 and it was a piece of cake.

Young girl down the street with Kia Soul had transmission problem.
Her boyfriend jacked front of car up placed on blocks. He changed the whole transmission. Took him two or three days but he got it done. I’d pass by and see him under car or bending over fender. Showed me old transmission. She is driving ok now.
(I would not have been able to do that even in my prime).

Yeah that too, simple hand tools and a jack and the transmission comes right out. I could probably do it in half a day. I love it because I spend all day working on cars with no room that have to be completely disassembled just to replace one part, when mine needs work it's extremely straightforward with no bloody knuckles or swearing involved 😂.

So far (knock on wood)
I’ve had good luck with my
2015 Sonata 2.0T;
2017 Cadenza 3.3;
2018 Sonata 2.0T;
2021 Genesis 3.5T AWD;
2021 Genesis 3.5T TWD.

Inly problems is getting appointments for dealer service.
The days of just driving in for service are over with these brands.
Too many cars. Too few technicians.

Not likely to buy another Hyundai or Kia . Have many reasons .
Same here, and I have owned 3 of them and generally received good service. But I think my luck is probably up by now. The main problem is now they are charging premium money for a substandard product. It was worth it when they were cheap and would reliably exceed 100,000 miles. It is not worth it now.

I mean I've seen Tellurides well north of $50K. No way in this lifetime.
