what is the consensus on this pickup

Hmm. That one is not far from me.

Southern Image Auto in Oswego usually sells stuff that is rust free.

But $27K for a 9 year old truck with >100K miles. Phew.

'Any other comments about this year Dodge Ram'?

That's a lot of money for a 10 year old pickup truck with no warranty and over 120K miles.

It looks like a base model, but they do really sell them that high down here. Looks like front passenger door has had some work or was pulled from another vehicle. Double cab, 4x4, diesel, and they did the ball joints which usually wear on these. I doubt he'll go anywhere below 22-23k.

Its is a common rail truck. The vp44 pumps Where on the old body style that Ended in 02 I think maybe 01

Over all it looks ok from the photos. I would do a long drive. Make sure that trans is ok.

Wheel bearing like to. Wear out on them too.

Its expensive because its the last year before all the emissions and the switch to the 6.7 motor

New diesel trucks are around $70,000. That's the 5.9 liter and has common rail injection. It's the last trucks made before switching to the 6.7 liter. The VP44 trucks were made from 1998.5-2002. The VP44 aren't bad at all as long as they have adequate fuel pressure. All you have to do is put a good fuel pump on it that bolts to your frame.

lol. It's been wrecked. It also has the edge race tuner with a turbo back exhaust. The problem with the diesels is you don't know how hard the guy before ran it before and what power setting they had it on.

This is why I never got my truck bed fixed when it got hung up on a rock going around a turn. I would end up with a fixed truck bed, but an unmatched paint job, so either way I'd still be [censored] off.

Price is too high-I only paid $28K when I bought the '06 in my sit-& it only had 35K on it. The '07 5.9s are high because they're the very last non-DPF trucks, & the VP44 ended in '02, it'll be a common rail. Should be able to tow nearly anything, though.

I only have about 26k into mine. They really jacked up the prices after 08 and 09. My truck is still worth about what I paid for it. lol Probably around 23,000 now.

Edge tuner and aftermarket exhaust. Doesn't look like there is a pyrometer in the manifold (most common spot) to monitor EGTs.

I'm guessing that's the stock transmission. They don't like higher than stock power.

Chances are that truck has been beat on.

I'd pass on this one.

^I agree, the 48RE is a big improvement over the 47RE that was in the previous generation, but chipping it usually results in an expensive rebuild & upgrade. One of the reasons I haven't done it to mine yet. I keep getting offers in the mail to "trade in" for more than I paid for it-into the garbage they go.

I saw that too. Either its been in some sort of accident or the door was replaced or painted for whatever reason.
