Thinking about useing some on my truck , it is a 89 chevy S-10 4.3 with 275k on it, never hade a valve cover or anything off the motor does not use any oil, change oil about 9k to 10k, use pennzoil 10w 40 Dino oil, just wondering what the best motor flush would be, i would use the auto-rx but really do not wana change the oil 3 or 4 times within 5k, just wana one time deal, Thanks guys

Since your minds made ....

I use this found at most NAPA stores . No need for the engine oil additive they sell . It's just a profit maker in my opinion .It really does work and it's not as harsh as B-12 although that never scared me in the least .

Lubegard Flush

I went straight to around a 10 month interval in one engine right after using this . 6-7 bucks a bottle .

B-12 Chemtool works well but the caution needs heeded that written on the cans if severely sludged . Be prepared to re-dose it if the oil light happens to come on .If it's not too bad don't worry just maybe a quick interval of 2k miles after hitting it with the B-12.

That 2 buck a quart stuff at Autozones and the likes will clean em up some too . Forget the names of the two thats been around a long time though .

Schaeffer's #131 Neutra. One ounce per gallon, run for 500 miles. (#131 and #292 are the same product in different package sizes...and the #292 instructions are better for engine cleaning.)

Get a 12 oz. bottle of Neutra from Tim Mills who advertises on this site. Get two or three...Neutra at an ounce per gallon does an excellent job of cleaning your fuel system.

Schaeffer's Neutra 131 worked well for me. I would suggest using one ounce per quart of oil and running for about 500 miles for cleaning the engine. One ounce of Neutra 131 per gallon of gasoline should do a good job of cleaning the fuel system.

275,000 miles! That is one nice truck you have there! More proof that GM's last as long as anything out there!

Thanks guys for all the replys, after i read what Chris b. said got me to thinking maybe i should just leave the S-10 be,( but you know you got to try something LOL ), so i tried sea foam in my work truck 88 full size chevy 4/4 with 240k on it same deal pennzoil 10w 40 Dino oil, change about every 9k or 10k, ( i know that is a long time but hey it has worked for us all this time with no problems )It never hade a valve cover off or any thing done to the motor,so when i put in the sea foam let it run about 10 min., i changed the oil,( i was thinking that well this is going to be a wast of money, but boy was i wrong!!!), the oil was grity and very dirty, so you know i hade to cut open the filter lol, and you hade to see it

( have no pics ) the filter hade so much crud and stuff in it, it was full in every pleat, and the unthreaded end was completly full, you could only see the top of the spring, it was wild ( to me any way) i hade a hard time getting the filter out off the can after i cut it open, just wished i hade some pics, i am keeping the filter to see if i can get some pics up for you guys , thanks again

I would recommend ARX. I had a 90 S-10 with the 4.3 liter V-6. Worked really well. I was originally suspect about any cleaning product. I had religously changed oil at the 3000K mile mark and thought that my motor was pristine. What I did was add ARX with a fresh oil change. Within 500 miles the oil had the appearance of a 3K drain. One other thing to note soon there after, upon vehicle inspection, I found that my exhaust reading were better than ever. I started this one time cleaning at about 125,000 miles. The unit was inspected at 131K. Hydrocarbon levels were below the inspection when the truck had only 75K on it. My conclusions were that it cleaned up the ring packs, resulting in better ring to wall sealing.

I since have traded the old S10, in favor of a 2000 year Silverado 4X4. I wish I could get the S-10 back. It was the least troublesome vehicle, I ever owned.

I believe an early oil changed would be warranted with all that stuff floating in your oil in the 88 full size motor

I have only heard of the Seafoam stuff , never even seen a bottle of it .

My opinion if your not willing to do an early oil change after using the harsher products or for that matter any of them with that many miles is that I would also just leave the S-10 be .

But boy howdy I'd like to see an engine oil analysis of Pennzoil 10w-40 at 10k miles just for kicks

Motorbike, I was thinking the same thang, think i will do a early oil change on the 88 ( 5.7 ) , about 4k, and i will do a UOA next time on S-10, thanks !!

Rick 20 said it all what other product mentioned in this string comes with a 100 % money back guarantee based on your satisfaction and your word of honour to use Auto-Rx per the application instructions on www.auto-rx.com is all thats expected from you ?

Frank, i did not say auto-rx would not work, it is, by what other posters have said, a fine product. But i just wanted a fast fix ( ok i am cheap too the seafoam just 4 dollars , did not want to do all those all changes and things )any ways , after the seafoam flush i used, i have notice that i am getting rite at 2 more mpg, and the engine just sounds sweet!! and you can feel the power is back!! the auto-rx must work fine too , some of the post i have read have hade some amazing results!! all i was saying is that the seafoam worked for me thanks
