What is R/T abbreviated for?

Dodge Sport moniker had more to do with an option package designation combo. Alloy wheels, instrumentation, suspension differences, body and molding differences etc.

R/T=Road/Track

Also keep in mind we got gems such as the Dodge Caliber R/T, a truly heart racing 172 horsepower mated to the worlds worst CVT transmission. It was marginally faster than my 2.sl0w equipped model and its 158hp, but still couldn’t break out of the double digits for 0-60.

Or the Grand Caravan R/T… or the Journey R/T. At least the Journey R/T ensured you got the 3.6 Pentastar after 2011 and not that gutless POS 4 banger that I wouldn’t give to my worst enemy.
Yes, we saw the same with the "RS" badges on GM vehicles. The Sunbird RS! The Equinox RS...etc.

50 years ago AMC sold a small ‘ wagon ‘ they called a Sportabout ‘ . It differed in that it had a couple of pieces of extra chrome, two doors, Ralley steel wheels with ‘beauty rings‘ and houndstooth interior.

1977 Toyota Celica GT Liftback; California GT........is the longest named car I've ever owned.
California GT meant it had electronic ignition and larger brakes which was the "Austrian Brake Package" in Europe.
The '49 state' examples had a snap closed, rubberized cloth cover for the distributor.
Big FL-1A oil filter on that 20R.

That car's best feature was the pocket created by each rear seat bottom when the back was folded down.
The cat loved to curl up there.
