What is Fram/Champ saying?

The one thing that I have learned ever since I joined the internet in 1996 is that big oil companies (and filter manufacturers) rarely ever answer their emails. It hasn’t gotten any better since those days. I don’t even know why they bother putting an email address on their websites 🤦‍♂️

True. In fact many small companies now don't answer email. Terrible IMHO!
 
From Fram's website. There is a 800 phone number if anyone wants to give it a shot.

Light leakers. At least 5-10 posts running. A couple very active

If Honda asks about defects, Fram upper levels will address defects and get them fixed. If I ask, why would they say anything, the ones answering phones, emails. They want their jobs. I wouldn’t say anything either. Upper levels hire people to answer phones and emails, and it shouldn’t be a word negative said. Purolator was too nice, and the escaped specs they probably didn’t understand them. They have the southern hospitality going on. Not so much anymore. Lost sales is not what they want.

But the consumer is not completely powerless. Bug them all, just like I have been. You guys can bug Amsoil, you can bug Honda, you can bug Fram. Go up the food chain. Not to get anyone in trouble but be a helpful consumer
 
Remember when some high up guy at Purolator addressed the tearing media issue back around 2014-2015? He basically said it was the people's fault for "storing" the filters too long, but he didn't realize the big spreadsheet that a member started on all the reported torn filters here showed that many were pretty new filters, and some ran for very low miles. He blamed everything but the fact that it was a quality and manufacturing issue. The threads are probably still here on the board showing that correspondence from Purolator on the media tearing.
 
I laid into Fram on the phone with some respectful passion about 5 months ago and he said he would flag my call. I said I have 8 Endurance filters that have the leaking new design they are charging me $13 a filter. So you are forcing me to throw away the JUNK you are selling. Kept pushing CLEARLY you knew this design is highly flawed in that they pulled the seal in the by-pass and they have the accordion spring plate. I asked why do you keep selling this junk. And why would even except a horrid design like this when the engineers who designed it, knew it was pure junk. I said I do oil changes on 5 cars and every one was a Fram endurance and Ultra, I said you have 100% lost all of the sales to me as you are selling badly designed sub-standard oil filters. And I am a maintenance guy at a mid sized manufacture and I have the ear of many people on car stuff, and I was pushing Fram for years. I have gone to everyone I suggested Fram to and said to stop using Fram ASAP and now I push the Carquest Premium. At that time of the call I was up in the air as I had no direction/filter I was going to chose, so I told him I need to do my research to find a filter to replace their badly designed sub-standard filters.
