What is Fram/Champ saying?

The one thing that I have learned ever since I joined the internet in 1996 is that big oil companies (and filter manufacturers) rarely ever answer their emails. It hasn’t gotten any better since those days. I don’t even know why they bother putting an email address on their websites 🤦‍♂️

True. In fact many small companies now don't answer email. Terrible IMHO!

Thread 'Used Amsoil EA15K13 C&P'

This EA15K13 filter came off the Pilot after a 4k OCI. This filter was installed at ~500 miles, and I changed the oil and this filter, the Pilot's first Amsoil filter, again after a long trip. Thread 'Fram Synthetic Endurance cut open'

Removed the Fram Synthetic Endurance and replaced with a Microgard Select - looks like I got lucky with the Fram.

After getting a lot of good information and feedback here I switched to the Microgard Extended oil filter for my 2024 motorhome (Ford E450 - 7.3l Godzilla V8). Very happy with the quality of the Microgard. After I took the Fram off I drained it out and cut the top off the filter. I don't have a fancy oil filter cutter so the Dremel tool got it done. I was curious if the filter had the ripples everyone is talking about in the leaf at the bottom of the filter. Took it apart...

I haven't been on the forum for years so excuse me for asking this one question (I did search, a lot):

Which oil filter is considered the "best" on the market (2025 USA)?

I've been using the Purolator BOSS PBL30001 (PH8A 3/4-19 equivalent size) and don't have any complaints. I did read about the large micron particles that got past this filter but also read that that may have been an error?? I've been using this BOSS filter (PBL30001) since it first came out and have done serial EOA's with good results (very low wear metals).

The problem I'm having is that this...

Wix 51036, Wix XP 51036XP
Baldwin B35-S
Purolator L24011, Purolator One PL24011
Fram Endurance, Fram Racing
What other filters should be on this list?

I'm looking for filters with filtration efficiency similar to Purolator One (15 microns nominal), good anti-drainback valve, good bypass valve, coil spring (no leaf spring), good flow and capacity.

A nice bonus would be if the can is thicker than a Purolator One can to help can withstand flying gravel hits when driving on gravel roads.

I've always used Wix 21 MC nom, or Baldwin...
