What good store brand alternator

Find a good auto electric shop and have yours rebuilt. At least you know what you are starting with.
This, or shop online for a deal on a new or rebuilt OEM Ford from a Ford dealer. I've had good luck shopping from dealers online for Toyotas, Nissans and BMWs (alternators and starters).

For Toyotas I usually get a used one in good working condition, they generally last forever so the risk is low, I always keep spares for all my cars, and they usually don't get used and I end up selling them.

I use Facebook market place or car-part.com to buy OEM spare parts

Finding an automotive electronics shop is hard in some areas. Where I used to live there was an electric motor shop that would fix alternators, starters, and pump motors. I had one of my pump motors rebuilt for $75 at that time. Can't touch that nowadays.

I just looked it up and am amazed to type this. I put a Remy on my 2000 f250 in February 2019 and it’s still going strong. It was an Amazon wharehouse deal, so I spent around $50 and figured if it lasted a year I’d be happy. Still going. Luckily Nissans supplier is Valeo and I’ve still got the original on my 09 Altima but do have one in the box (wharehouse deal) in waiting.

I've only had one issue and I've used a few very cheap warehouse deal alternators.. The one was made wrong and the plugs were all clocked the wrong way and I can see why the first guy returned it..

Advance Auto, Autozone, Oreillys with a lifetime warranty. Find/use whatever promotions you can. Keep the receipts obviously.

I did mine on my Isuzu's alternator. There were no available, used or remanufacturered, so I searched eBay, none as well. I took the matter into my own hands and dissamble the alternator. Found out the carbon brushes were all chewed up, I bought some on eBay. All I did was re-lubed the bearing with syn oil, cleaned the internal parts and soldered the new brushes. To this day it has held up. That was several years, I can't remember when.

He would probably know.
That being said, a Ford reman will be built by an outside company and Ford will just slap their name on it and get a percentage of the selling price. I drive (mostly) Fords, but I will admit I've used plenty of Ford reman parts that were not up to par.

@Kruse, I was under the impression that @MetalSlug, is looking for an original alternator, which is probably no longer available. @bdcardinal could make a recommendation for something of comparable quality and not some random reman alternator.
Yea, reading the original post again, you are probably correct. In that case, the original alternator needs to be rebuilt. It’s possible that it could be a diy job.
However, the nearest alternator rebuilder for me is 90 minutes away, has the worst temperament on planet earth and is closed on Saturdays.
If it was mine (and it’s not), I would aftermarket the thing and save the case to be rebuilt at a later date.

I had KMJ titan alternator for my 03 cobra . that thing is beast but also expensive.

Autozone seem like a very good reputation for good electric stuff . Will take a look
