What does it mean that oil is European version?

What does it have or don't have vs the American version?

And since I have a Volvo and a Honda then should I run Euro? Or are the trimmings and oil pressures different for the NA market?

They often (but not always) have higher levels of phosphorous. It also means they have met the European OEM performance requirements, of which there are many. The older Full-SAPS Euro oils had considerably more phosphorous (AW additive, the anti-wear/anti-friction component of ZDDP) than the API oils post-SL in the xW-30 grades.

Would they be good for a Kawasaki v twin mower motor that has a high zinc recommendation?
