Hi,

Just curious what everyone wants for Christmas (besides your two front teeth)... Looking for neat, utilitarian, fun, techy, or otherwise... Any good ideas? Any suggestions? For giving as gifts and for coveting to put onto my list to Santa

I like made in the USA stuff... I dont really want to ask for car parts or motor oil... I'm stuck.

Thanks,

JMH

aye, but my parents asked and I havent been able to come up with an answer... Plus, I like to get together with friends and exchange items that we think each other would like... More researchy and from the heart than buying mixed nuts from the k-mart...

I always have a list of tools that would be nice to have (from my list to the wife)

Bent head ratchet:

This flexible extension looks really cool, and it’s $20:

Feeler gauges:

Inch-lb torques wrench:

These following are lower priority items, that would be helpful but I don’t have an immediate need. Would make a good “surprise” gift for Christmas or next year:

If you want to surprise me sometime, I’ve always wanted a good soldering iron. But I am not in a real desperate need for one (the one I have works okay – but it really sucks), so it is a low priority.

This will really seal my dorkness, but I’ve wanted a Weller soldering Iron since High School. I used one at my step dad’s old company once and they really do work better:

I just want to spend time with my wife and kids. gifts don't mean much when you're the one that pays for them (I bring in about 95% of our income).

I am in the same boat, but it is a chance for my wife to give me the approval for stuff that I won't buy for myself (because I would typically feel guilty about it) . It really isn't "My money" it's my "families money" - at least that is how I view it.

I am actually looking forward to the road trip to the in-laws for Christmas more than anything. They get snow there, so I am looking forward to a White Christmas.

Me too. It can really limit your choices though. I do the best I can to buy USA.

Well a good job with benifitts would be nice!!! It would be even better if that job did not require me to move to another state. If I do have to relocate some assitance would be nice!

If I was not on unemployment right now a RCI 2970 would be nice. Mine was stolen about 4 years ago and I really miss it! My next choice would be British Adult Version Hard Bound Harry Potter six book set. While I will not let my kids read them yet they are very entertaining and enchanting.

Adult version of Harry Potter? That's not what I think it means is it?

No NO!!! In the UK they have adult version of HP. It is not XXX rated. The books are higher quality hard bounds, The books are black and have black and gold dust jackets. I belive the dust jackets might be leather with gold leaf and raised lettering. I like books and like them to last. I will instead end up getting the childrens versions butin hard bound sometime after Christmas. I will probably buy them one at a time.I also belive the illastrations are different.

They cancelled a shutdown at work that was to run from 17th Dec to 17th Jan, so I'm on leave

Don't really want anything in particular. A couple plastic model cars (to get me off the computer evenings) would be good.

Mum and Dad bought us all tickets to Cirque DeSoleil for March (She retires in a few days, and wanted to buy something lavish for the entire family). Can't get much better than that.

I don't want any gifts except hugs and love. As noted, I'm the sole breadwinner and the girls come first.

The ability to chow down without blowing my gut circumference would be nice. I held my breath on that one once, but still one belt notch short of where I was last year.
