Everyone uses credit cards like an army of mall shopping zombies but what do you buy with your old greenabcks?

Here's my list...

1) Dental appointments (cash discounts)
2) Home appliances from estate sales, auctions, and yard sales
3) Furniture, board games, dolls, clothes and pretty much all home furnishings via estate and yard sales.
4) Older electronics (higher quality from the same sources)
5) Help with home repairs and renovations along with moving heavy items
6) Buying plants and other collector's clubs and activities
7) Tutoring
8) Auto repairs

Anything else comes to mind?

I'll keep some money in my pocket for summertime garage sales and fleamarkets but TBH we've pretty loaded up on anything we want.

I'd like to buy a used car that I could trust for a few Benjamins but I think that time is long past. Now a few thousand buys junk and it's about to where I'd rather just swipe my credit card at a lot instead. Too much cash to carry around.

Barber shop, I think that's just about it. Even when we divvy up a shared cost among friends, they all prefer Venmo payment to cash. I can't remember the last time stopped at a garage sale. That reminds me, I should probably have a garage sale...

Only thing I can think of using cash for is to tip someone who delivers something substantial to our home or buy a drink at a local beach bar. Other than that, cash sits in my wallet for months at a time.

Almost nothing. I'm so ashamed of myself. But any credit card transactions are paid in full every month. Each and every month.

But maybe I can get into some group counseling sessions about my CC compulsions? 🫨

i pay with credit card, i have only 1 card, that i pay entirely at the end of every month. i want to be a good citizen and have a good credit score. that's the way the system work. i could pay with cash. but a good credit score allow me to have easy access for house loans or car loans if needed. and i am approved extremely quickly for these loans.

Any small local home service business. If there is a tree I can't cut and has to be climbed, or a roofing repair, I always ask " what's my cash price?"

Small purchases that are a couple bucks, if I have any. Usually a soda or coffee at a gas station. I have slowly quit carrying any cash around for a while now though unfortunately, and I refuse to use a card for two dollars unless absolutely necessary. Sometimes I just don't want to drive out of my way to get to my banks ATM, cuz I refuse to pay service fees

I actually looked it up not long ago and it said 20% of transactions were still cash. I was surprised.

Anywhere that walks with my cc, which are very few now that restaurants bring the machine to my table.

Restaurants that give a discount.

I tip a couple people in cash, like the groomer.

They have locked my card for that before - security told me that’s how a thief tests a card …
Guess that reprogrammed how I use cards - carry a few hundred cash …
