So I'm cleaning my garage and suddenly I come across a dusty, yellow 5w30 Pennzoil oil bottle. It's nearly empty. Now, I don't remember buying Penzoil for my Audi. All day I'm wondering and trying to figure out the mystery when I suddenly do recall in all clarity. About 3 years ago, I actually bought that bottle of oil at Safeway and put it into my Audi. I remember it was very late at night and probably no other place was open. Gross, my baby got tainted blood!

The Bentley manual says that 5w30 is okay for top offs. So its okay. So you suspect there still a trace of 5w30 left in your car? Your car will forgive you. The lesson learned, always have extra oil on hand for in case.

So you still have that same oil in use 3 years later? I would not loose any sleep over it being Pennzoil 5/30. Pennzoil is good oil. It's that three years I am wondering about......

I consulted with the Elves and they have offered a pronouncement. If you will infuse GC into the circulatory system of your Deutscher Schatz and drive 3 times (not once, not twice) over the Golden Gate bridge and in between those crossings have a nice German lunch in the City, your Audi will suffer no ill effects...really.

(Pennzoil is not a bad oil...but your Audi must keep appropriate traditions.)
