I was talking to buster this morning and he was asking me what detail products I use.

These are the products that I currently use and have in my arsenal:

Sealant: Menzerna Power Lock
Quick Sealant: Blackfire Crystal Seal
One-step polish: Menzerna PF2500 Power Finish
Finishing/maintenance polish: Menzerna SF4000
De-contamination: Nanoskin Autoscrub Fine grade 6” DA pad or Nanoskin Autoscrub Medium Grade Wash Mitt.
Compound: Meguiars M105
DA Polisher: Flex 3401 with Lake Country interchangeable 4” and 6” backing plates.
Polishing Pads: Lake Country flat 6.5” and 4” (white polishing and orange cutting), uber green (medium polishing for one-step)
Dressing: Chemical Guys Silk Shine
One-step interior cleaner: Mothers VLR
Heavy-Duty Interior Cleaner: P&S Xpress Interior Cleaner
Leather Condition: Meguiars Gold Class clear pump gel.
Tires Dressing: Optimum Opti-Bond
Wheel Cleaner: Meguiars All Wheels Wheel Cleaner.
Engine Dressing: Chemical Guys G6 Hypercoat
All-purpose cleaner: ZEP Citrus
Carwash Soap: Meguiars Gold Class

Really curious what you guys use...so please share.

Thanks!

Guess I should probably start caring about this since I have the new Mustang.

All I have is Lexol for interior and some random old Eagle One bottles from the last time I cared about how my car looked.

Well, I could save some time and say a mix Meg's Gold class and red bottle...

But, just added 303 for the tires.

And looking for my first buffer!!

I've tried quite a few products over the years. I'm currently using the following:

1. Mother's California Gold Soap
2. Blackfire Crystal Sealant (havent' used it yet)
3. Simple Green Pro HD
4. Sonus Trim & Motorkote (Engine)
5. Meguiar's Interior Detailer
6. Mother's Tire Shine

I don't use that many products. I'd like to eventually get a orbital buffer and try some of the paint correction products The Critic uses.

I look forward to trying the BFCS. Looks to be an excellent product that is good for not only paint, but trim and glass.

I've used several Zaino products as well.

Simple. I use Meguiar's Gold class, but I just bout some new Eagle 1 car wash wax with beads in it. I'm excited to see how that works. I use Lexol cleaner/conditioner for my seats, and turtle wax platinum tire dressing. I love this because the dressing has a wax mixed into it, so it dries/stick to the side wall so it isn't slinging dressing everywhere like black magic.

I found the eagle 1 nano wax spray at a local discount outlet for a buck a bottle. I bought 15 of them.
It works surprisingly well and cost was negligible.

Zaino for all my protection
A coat of collinite when I go on long trips
Menzerna for paint correction
ONR for washes, dawn foam when I'm waxing that day
Little green machine for interiors

Couple other but those are my favorites after years of trying other stuff.

Not a bad combination. I like the Z6 a lot and their AOI All In One product.

I may get some Menzerna for my wife's car. It needs a good detail BAD. I'll then use BGCS.

I use Lemon Pledge on my batteries, the battery box and the area around the battery. My 4 Runner OEM battery lasted 10 years and looked exactly like brand new the day I replaced it and I never used grease or anything else on it. Go ahead and laugh but I've been doing this for a lot of years and it works well every time. Most people tell me it does not work but those that try it and do a good job of it keep doing it. I understand that if you know better and are an expert that you won't try it, either but that's okay. That happens a lot on the forum.

Sealant: Collinite 845/ Meguiars Gold Class paste wax
One-step polish: Meguiars Ultimate Polish/Nu Finish
De-contamination: Clay bar (whatever is cheap)
Compound: Meguiars Ultimate Compound
DA Polisher: Harbor Freight DA
Polishing Pads: Whatever HF pads are..
One-step interior cleaner: Meguiars matte finish
Heavy-Duty Interior Cleaner: Simple Green
Tires Dressing: Meguiars Endurance/ Hot Shine
Wheel Cleaner: Car wash (clearcoat rims)
All-purpose cleaner: Simple green automotive
Carwash Soap: Meguiars Gold Class
Glass cleaner: Stoner Invisible Glass
Trim restore: Stoner Trim Shine

Man! you guys have a lot of hooch! I don't have so much, mostly because guys like you steered me in the right direction from the start.

Wash: Turtlewax no rinse has displaced excellent Chemical Guys products.

Chemical Guys Black on black for the trim: Its a Ford F-150 XL so there is plenty.

Duragloss Aquawax spray wax.

Collinite 476 wax (applied with dual action polisher).

Use the 303 products for the interior and interior vinyl.

Detailer: Whatever is on sale.

Infrequently used:

Chemical Guys Triple X Hardcore wax--Not worth the extra effort most of the time.

Claybar-- a once a year deal for me, since I started new and keep the car waxed all the time.

Salt Away--winter only, of course

Simple Green heavy duty the purple stuff--for the engine bay only. a once a year deal for me.Probably not necessary-- go to do it yourself place.

Microfiber towels-- the cheapo 24 packs I get a Sams.

A year's supply of all this is maybe a little over $100, probably less, since some of it will last more than a year.

Have an expensive Flex DA polisher. Works great, but with these super-durable waxes I don't feel I use it enough to justify the cost, now that Harbor Freight has a serviceable $59 DA polisher. (I'm more of a protect my investment guy than a detail hobbyist).

Very satisfied.

Big improvements in this stuff over the years.

Want to try: Chemical Guyz EZ Creme glaze.

I've used that product in the past. I currently use the wax as you dry product each each. It provides a great protection barrier and it's easly to apply. I'm taking about the car wash product. It just hit the shelves. It's a car wash liquid that has carnauba wax beads mixed in. I'm excited to use it.

I just ordered a quart of Poorboy's Trim Restorer. I think it'll be good for engine compartments too.
