Just long term usage. No racing or severe service. What kind of test are you looking for? I just put VRP in our 2010 Tiguan that's had diet of mostly Castrol it's whole life.

5W should be good to around -25f or so. It’s all about pumpability.I’m hoping to get 5k miles out of it before I have to put a better winter weight oil in. Pour point doesn’t look the greatest for VRP 5w30

Oh wow. Yes 5W would not be appropriate.I need -40
Yeah we can see below -40 in winter and it doesn’t have a block heater. Back to testing VRP, it’s a grocery getter, commuter to work sometimes which has some highway.Oh wow. Yes 5W would not be appropriate.

@KnappAttak is running it exclusively in his Euro engines now, and there's a whole pile of people at Audiworld doing the same now, so we should have some results in a few years showing how they do.I’d bet R&P in non severe service and 5k oci’s in a euro engine would be just fine. Problem is finding someone to test my theory….
They're coming.Still waiting on VRP versions that meet BMW LL-14 FE+ or LL-17 FE+. Also MB 229.5 and 229.71. VW 504 00 and 508 00. And the list goes on.
When Valvoline covers at least the major Euro specs, then we can ask, what is there to do next?
You park outside in that weather? Yeesh.I need -40
Yes. The Vw usually got to park in the garage when it got cold but now the new Volvo will get that priority. The diesel truck has always lived outside all year, only goes inside for maintenance. You park outside in that weather? Yeesh.
-25F = -31C so pretty close
Valvoline R&P ran nearly 10K miles and stayed in grade even with some fuel dilution. It was 0W-20, but the other grades should also hold grade with similar use.Just long term usage. No racing or severe service.
