Current tires are Nitto NT 404 extreme force

Ned to buy new one because tires are wearing out.
Any good brand for performance like handling and quite?

Just checked Tire Rack, 1010Tires, and Discount Tire Direct. I'm not seeing any tires of any kind in that size.

Found a couple on a UK site, but I'm not sure if that's a realistic possibility.

Any chance you could buy a new set of wheels in another size? There are some okay options in 275/55/17, 285/45/19, and 295/40/20.

+1 on the Michelin. Expensive but worth it, IMO.

+2 on Michelin. They usually ride, handle, and last very well.

Unless you live in the SouthWest or Florida. And then they just dry rot.

Funny that we buy set after set of 4 Michelin LTX MS2's (now called Defenders) and have never had this issue. Both LT and E types. And of course the PSS's I use on my sig car are wicked good, absolutely tops in their class.

To paraphrase: "I guess the Micheline Hate-fest continues"!

I firmly believe EVERY tire mfgr makes a few dawgs, but in certain types like these and other tires Michelin offers a great deal IMO...

Not Michelin !!! I now have to replace four tires on my truck (Michelin AT2) because the cracking of the rubber is so severe that I will fail a DOT inspection. There is 7/32 tread left on the tires (54,200 miles) and Michelin is offering a minuscule reimbursement on a $1200.00 tire purchase. The reimbursement only comes after I purchase new tires and submit a claim for reimbursement. NO THANK YOU Michelin

hate -or bad tires?

I'm going with 285/40r18 because I can't find a 50 and no I'm not going to change the wheel since it already has a AMG wheels on it. How much width can I go or it will look bad?

54,200 miles?
How old are tires?
I used Michelin tires on various vehicles and never, never had any issue with any of them.
My neighbor had on his RAM1500 Michelin for 9 years with no cracking. He replaced them only when we talked about it and I said that considering their age, it is really looking for trouble.

For the OP, definitely bad tires. But these isolated incidents only prove my point. Go check any tire site with reviews. Overwhelming support for many Michelins.

Plus, he has a DEALER problem. My local guy would make me happy no matter what it took. But then we buy a lot of tires here...

You can't do this. You need something with an equal or greater load rating. It is unsafe to install tures with a lower load index than what originally came with the car.

However, you can go up to 285/60-18 )
