Yup, at only 31K I had to replace them. I'll admit we drive a little aggressive and drive up and down a mountain. While we do drop the transmission a couple gears you inevitably get behind a line of traffic and you're forced to use brakes. Pads had plenty of life in them, but any little bit of heat would give you a terrible shimmy. Rotors were done.
The surprising thing was how rusted the rotors were to the hub. Guess 5+ years of PA winters will do that. Luckily Toyota included a threaded hole to act as a forcing screw. My Random assortment of screws and bolts came in handy again!

Hub was cleaned thoroughly and a liberal amount of anti-seize was applied. There was some buildup under the pad hardware starting to form so that was cleaned as well. More than likely I'll take the rears apart, clean them, and apply lube as well.
Put er' all together nice like.

As you see, plenty of pad left, but I wanted to do it right and do it once.

Took it for a test drive and bedded in the pads. Gonna have to re-learn how to drive this thing! Any decent amount of pedal pressure and it brings it right down! Really liking the Raybestos Element 3 Hybrid pads and Street Performance rotors. The Jeep is going to need rear brakes next Spring so I think I'll use the same pads and the E3 coated rotors.

I’ll have to make a trip out there if I get one of the 7 other jobs I applied for. Looks tastyBroken Trail Hazy IPA. Very good beer and comes in 12 packs. From Williamsport, PA.
Hope it all works out well. I recall helping my mother with her medical visits. I had to take off work and fly from NH to Florida.Nothing today. Taking my Elderly Mother to the Hospital to have a kidney stone sonically blasted so it will come out easier. I just hope it works for her.

I can second that. Had a friend have one blasted several years ago. It passed a lot "easier", if that could ever be applied to passing stones. My mother had to have that done twice. I can say that it worked. Uncomfortable, but worked. Hope it works out well for her!
