Trying to determine the source of this oil leak on the Escape. I checked the torque of the valve cover bolts and all were good since we done the gaskets 3 months ago. The last picture shows the best probably it’s in between the two cylinder heads in the middle of the engine that puddle of oil over in the corner. Hopefully it’s not the crank or cam seals leaking as that is a very extensive repair to have to do in a driveway. It’s low on oil too so it’s gotta be going somewhere else too it’s about a quart to quart and a half low. If anyone knows what it could be let me know because I don’t see any visible leaks near this area. Wondering if it’s the timing cover gasket.

Friend ended up taking his sons truck to a local shop for the condenser. I ended up doing a couple of oil changes/tire rotations at the house. Today I've got nothing scheduled except to watch the srx race tonight.

Both downstream O2s on 99 GS400. The car has had the P0420/0430 twins off & on for a long time. City driving, they pop up to say hi...extensive freeway driving & also spirited driving makes em go away. The sensors were cheap on Amazon, so figured why not. Otherwise it's a bottle of Guaranteed to Pass a week before smog test & hammer on it on the way to the test 😄😋

Ordered up a new IAT sensor for my 3500 and plugged that in. Cleared the P0111 and after some dicking around and short start/stop cycles it is gone. But now P2580 showed up. It let's me clear it but shows up after running the engine briefly.

So that I dictates turbo speed sensor...... which I doubt as it just appeared when I swapped the IAT. Some brief reading on some other sites say it is a symptom of a dirty or failing MAP. Apparently the IAT, MAP and turbo speed sensor may work together...

So that is my next step, pull the map, clean it and see what rabbit hole that takes me down.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 get ready to replace the main catalytic converter. I had to and it passed emissions. Replacing 02 sensors didn’t help anything

Definitely possible. I didn't clear the MIL, It went away within 10miles. ~250mi on the car since & no peek-a-boo from the CEL. I can pass CA smog before the new O2s, just requires driving in 3rd gear at 80+ on the fwy on the way to the test 😄. We'll see come January when it's smoggy time again, lol

Our old Whirlpool direct-drive washer needed a new coupler. Previous one I fitted had a steel hub insert; I needed to use a gear puller to remove it. Machine is 31 years old. The coupler lasted 10 years, before the fingers sheared off.

I cut some wood for a mock up prototype to show a draftsperson so they can make drawings for a patent.

Going to leave soon to buy summer generator gas, and groceries.

Helped a friend replace the 4L60 in his 2007 Chevrolet 1500 today. In went a rebuilt Jasper unit. Tomorrow were pulling the transmission out of his sons 2004 Chevrolet 1500 to replace the rear main seal/plate gasket and oil pan gasket. Once that's over with I'm not doing anything else the rest of the week.

Got the 04 Silverado done this afternoon.

Worked on many things at work. I can’t complain I stay busy and have awesome coworkers who will loan me anything I need since I don’t have everything at this place yet. Started off with a couple oil changes and tire rotations, then had to do brakes all the way around on a theft recovery which is going to go to auction but the girl who had it her ex sprayed something on the brakes it smelled like PB Blaster so I had to do pads and rotors on that, then done a repo which had to have brakes on it as well because that is company policy for safety and had to wash the tree sap off of it. Then done 2 batteries, fixed a customers mis diagnosis which he said was the battery but it was the alternator, fixed a customers sons screw up which he left the air filter loose and the air filter was laying on the exhaust manifold melting and the box was flapping around so he brought it in for the noise when I opened the hood me and all my coworkers started dying laughing. The convieient thing is Auto Plus is diagonal to the dealership section that I’m in which is Mopar and Subaru, Kia and Hyandai but we work on anything in my part. So we have all parts that aren’t in stock there usually within 10 minutes.

Oh yeah and also wrote a claim ticket for a vandalism that happened in the parking lot so that will be sent to insurance for them to pay for us to fix the ladies car that was vandalized. This was a different lady than the car I mentioned above. Then got cursed at by a customer because her car tire had a nail in it and we offered to repair it for $10 she came in there to me and starting yelling that I had planted a screw in her tire because she said it wasn’t losing air beforehand.

And the other new guy dropped a brand new Corvette off a Jack without looking and one of the lift arms was out a little bit and it crushed the bottom side skirt, yesterday he was late for work on the first day so that’s two strikes on him now. And he didn’t even need to Jack it up but he wanted to look at the exhaust and was the boss and customer fuming.

Sorry for the long write up but it was a very productive day and this is just what I did my coworkers did the same stuff and some other stuff too.

The one co worker: he’s on very limited time I see

Heater core and radiator on the XC70. Slight leak from the core, likely o-ring, but I am doing the whole thing. Cracked inlet neck on the radiator caused a moderate leak. I replaced the radiator hoses as well.

It’ll get vacuum filled with new coolant when done.

Replaced some crumbling wire loom. Adjusted AC compressor clutch gap while the radiator was out. Removed and cleaned the throttle body.

Mid way through a battery repair on a A3 Etron. New cell module should be done on the cell balancer unit tomorrow so can build up the module unit and refit into the new casing, fingers crossed it passes its final pressure check ok before being refitted into the car. Should do with the amount of sealant that gets used mind.
