2017 Kia Sportage, 2.4L, Only 20,000 miles. DTC P0455 for large EVAP leak....Found a stuck open Cannister Close Valve (Cannister Vent Valve).

Tore down a 3rd 6.0L LS core in search of a block that will clean up at .005" over for a forced induction 402 Stroker build.

Bled the brakes & clutch on the '69 Chevelle.

Put a new AGM battery in my 2016 F-250 today in the snow. It had been getting weak for a while and were supposed to see several days next week in the single digits and below zero. Napa was $20 cheaper than Oreilly's and also had a $20 rebate that I intend to use. With being on the fire department, I don't want to be worrying about if my vehicles will start. Dug a junk group 65 out of my stash and kept the weak one for 12v pumps, fence chargers, etc. This is 100 CCA over what was in it when new and boy it spins good now. You don't realize how weak batteries can get over time and still function. Left the truck off and locked for the night for the battery management system to do what ever voodoo it is supposed to do(I'm not convinced it does anything but what does it hurt).

Also ordered tune-up parts for my Tercel.

I have that thought fairly regularly and then do whatever it is. That's my response, either to my thought or to someone scoffing at what I'm doing. What does it hurt?

Yesterday I got 5 yards of crushed rock delivered.

Yesterday I shoveled some of the crushed rock. I put the first amount of crushed rock in a dip, a muddy, holey, dip.

Today I will shovel more crushed rock.

The crushed rock is for my driveway that has accelerated its disappearing act.

I perhaps will take some pictures now, having missed out on the best, earliest, nastiest before shot.

The worst part of the crushed rock moving is the wife thought it was for just her driveway part to her garage. This area is not muddy. A few tiny areas of water when raining hard. You know how that made me feel?

It made me feel like the rock is angry at me for being crushed.

 o_O :D:cool:
Mine next ?

This one was fairly annoying because it’s hard to find any reliable information anywhere about this “battery management system”. The procedure I did was documented fairly well around the internet. Even the local dealer was less than helpful when I called to ask.

Spent a bit of time on the old Versatile 256. Had it parked inside the heated shop since the weather is going to cool off to normal this week. Found the usual puddles it leaves behind.

I found one hydraulic coupling leaking bad. Cleaned it up, no dice but it appears a new o ring was the fix. I then tried to access as many bolts on the hydraulic pumps as I could to retorque them in an attempt to quell the seaping.

I then found out why the ether start does not work, some of the wiring was ganked out, as was another on the oil cooler housing. Thats for another day.

The other day I put some time into the garbage skid steer snow blade. Guessing its COO is not on this continent. Anyways, the hydraulic fittings were all loose and leaking, the inch and whatever mounting bolts all backed off and the blade preload is garbage. It uses a cantilever set up so as the blade rolls forward, it engages the coil spring tensioners. Issue is that there is a couple inches of free play that allows the blade to roll forward too much, pivoting on the skids.

If not careful, it can catch just about any little frozen bump and fold under itself. Because of this, you cannot get a close scrape and or have to drive at a a crawl. Hoping to fix this by getting numerous large washers to shim the coils and put enough preload on them to clear up the free play.

Just a caveat, I had no say in the purchase of said equipment, yet I must use it and fix it. Words have been exchanged and I am on the hunt for something quality.

🤣🤣. I’m young so I’ll help Pablo. Like PENNDOT: we will take turns shoveling and then leaning on our shovels 🙊🙈
Wait I thought that was just an az-dmv worker thing. One guy shovels, one sits in the truck, and the rest walk in circles or watch the one guy work.

Did it have BMS? My '11 F350 6.2 doesn't.

Leveling kit on '21 Silverado 1500 Dmax. Fancy 6000-something Bilsteins up front with heavy duty coils.

Rear was a 1" Eibach block and over-the-pack helper spring -- not my choice, it's what the owner wanted. Fancy Bilstein 5000-something with remote reservoirs in the rear.

I didn't get any shots of the overall vehicle but here's a front strut installed:
