What are you working on today?

1969 Honda CT90 I picked up for a few hundred bucks last week. Dual Range 4 speed trans. Somehow got cheated out of the fuel tank but flea bay came through so it will be a complete bike today. Still looking for Fire, will need points, battery, tires but perfect for my Buddies farm.

Knock Sensors & Harness, Intake Gaskets, And a EVAP Purge Solenoid on a 2004 Chevy Tahoe 4.8L/4L60E.....GRAVY!!

Rear Main Seal, Rear Cover Gasket, Oil Pan Gasket, Oil Pressure Sensor, & EVAP Vent Valve on a 2011 Chevy Silverado 4.8L/4L60E. More GRAVY!! Especially with how easy the Oil Pressure Sensor is once the transmission is removed.
Yes....It will receive a new Oil Pick-up Tube O-ring.

Planned on staying late to knock out the '11, But the parts won't show 'til morning.

Got the front end work done on the mustang today. I eyeballed the alignment, good enough to back out of the shop and onto a trailer to be taken for a proper alignment. I'm replacing the water pump tomorrow, as well as changing the oil.

Yesterday I pulled this 2.4l out of a 2015 Kia Sorento to replace it with a remanufactured engine. It only has 103k on it and it was knocking in the bottom end.
I figured that I would take an “under the valve cover” pic as I was stripping it down.
I should have taken a picture of the valves, they had so much carbon built up on them. That’s GDI for you.

That sucks, sorry to hear.

with parts ordered from Rock Auto...replaced the engine air filter, cabin air filter, exercised the car battery on the Deltran Battery Tender Plus, replaced a blown glove box lamp bulb, filled the tank with Costco Super Unleaded 93 octane gasoline ($4.74 per gallon), checked the coolant ph, ran a BlueDriver scan and got the car washed at the local wash...keeping her 9 year old Malibu turbo running and looking like new.

Changed out a sink hot water valve. Had to try out different allen wrenches for the set screw and afterward decided to do a roundup as some of my allen wrench’s were missing from the kits. Here are some pics. Enjoy.

Bonus! I was able to assemble part of my Craftsman metric allen wrench set that dates back to 1981 if I am correct. The embossing was even on the tiny 3 mm Allen wrench. ( image enlarged with my camera).

Cleaned up and protected a battery on a '95 Tacoma for a local member on another forum. Wanted me to look over the truck to figure out a starting issue. Started with the basics.

Appears the issue was the floor mat. Truck is a 5 speed and the clutch wasn't reaching all the way correctly on the safety switch. You might say shame on the owner, but sometimes you don't even think about it. Was the first thing that popped in my mind, but I always like a clean and protected battery so that was my first step!

Went over the truck and for a 27 year old Tacoma in the Northeast it's surprisingly clean! The one rear shock did decide to bluetooth itself during an offroad event...

We'll get it fixed up here sometime! They want to learn how to work on their stuff so I'm gonna hand them the air impact and let them go to town! 😁

Did a late night rear wheel bearing change on the Focus. It started making noise a couple days ago but was staying tight so I thought I'd wait until warmer weather... Yesterday it got much noisier quickly and was getting quite loose so it was time to fix it. It has rear drums with the bearing pressed into the drum, but I had the relatively new drums and bearing from my parts car handy, and it went pretty well once I got the old drum off the axle with some hammering...

Yesterday the customer picked up the 66 mustang. Today I replaced a thermostat housing assembly on a 2008 mustang with a 4.0 V6. It's not looking like a busy week, which is fine. I'm ready for a bit of a reprieve.

I just got done surveying the property for storm damage. Had a pretty fierce wind storm last night, and it downed a couple of dead trees out behind the shop I hadn't gotten around to cutting down yet. Have some small limbs scattered here and there, but fortunately nothing bad. I'll probably try to drag those felled trees out after things dry up a bit, and pollen season comes to a close.

This morning I took my truck to the car wash, then to the local tire shop for an alignment check and new tires. Waiting for a customer to drop off a 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass that probably has a bad axle seal.
