What are you listening to right now?

Jack Jones died October 23, 2024. He Sang a lot of adult contemporary classics - stuff that my parents listened to often on easy listening FM stations on the whole house intercom. If you like the genre or not, I don't think you could argue that he had a great voice; Sinatra said he was the best of the newcomers - way back in the mid sixties.

Here is an old video tape of him singing a duet with the great Shirley Bassey - if you are impatient, skip to to last minute and a half.

 


Takes me back to when I played lots of Tekken (3D Fighting Game) during 90s to mid 2000s.

With Saruman schemin’ from his pile of old cans,

Frodo’s carryin’ that Ring, and it’s weighin’ him down,
But we’re marchin’ on to Hick's Keep to defend our town!

Saruman’s in his trailer, enjoyin’ the darkness he brings,
Théoden’s lookin’ rough, dazed and tangled in the strings.
Éowyn’s mixin’ moonshine, claimin’ it’ll clear his head,
While Merry and Pippin are lost, just followin’ where they’re led.
They stumble on Treebeard, a prepper with a stash of beans,
In his forest camo, claimin’ he’s the king of the greens!
