What are you listening to right now?

Sammys sure come a far ways. He has had a really very successful AND long career. Seems like yesterday to me (late 1970s) that he was just starting out in music as a lead singer (played no instruments on stage back then) for the Ronnie Montrose band. There was so much talent in that group there was no way they could stay together past just a few albums before they were all putting out solo lps or starting other bands.

🤪 MONTROSE - " Paper Money " is now playing @ XM Deep Tracks w/ Greg Roberson (?) .

" Chestnut Mare " is one of my favorites . Great 2 record set .
I cant believe I do not have that one. why? In my high school years (long ago!) I had a massive collection (lost count at around 300) of vinyl + 8 tracks from the early 70s until mid 80s. Mid 80s was around the time what I considered music died! I passed on and donated 90% of those when the kids came along and I kinda put music aside for many years. When the internet ,Ebay , Amazon and online shopping popped up, I ended up putting me together a retro- 70s era stereo. A Marantz SR4000 Am/Fm stereo reciever with multi CD player that pushes thru (2) Bose speakers and (2) JBLs. I then slowly started collecting again. Not really on purpose. It just happened. I can't believe it but I just made a quickie count in the Man Cave and I seem to have accumulated quite an oldies collection again. It now seems that since around 2001 or so, I have ended up with a bit more than 200 CDs again! LoL wife just started to roll the eyes and fuss (teasing really cause she loves all the old stuff like me) yesterday until the package ended up being her early Valentines Day gift from me! I learned long ago.
"Happy WIFE = Happy LIFE!"

I stumbled across some studio videos of Montrose with Sammy H doing demo recordings of the first two Montrose albums. They were really some "Hot Dogs" back in the day. Ronnie M was one of the fastest players I have seen up close in concert. He passed away from cancer some time back..

Blowback baby
James Gang LIVE at Carnegie Hall was one of the very first cassette tapes I ever owned. One of my classic favorites that never ages IMHO.
