Rock is my life, and this is my song...RIP Robbie Bachman
As you can tell, I love this band!!Anyone go look at some of their other videos on their YT channel? You'd hardly recognize them out in public doing everyday people things. I didn't know they were all in a family, like a modern day "Partridge Family".
I remember as a kid in the 70s, you could buy records everywhereWife and I were lucky enough to see them re-unite when they did , I think for the last time between 2009 and 2015. It was in a smaller casino venue seating about 500 people. It was a real treat as they are one of the few from their original era we never saw. Was big fans of some other Canadian rockers who Bachmans started out with The Guess Who. Telling age again. So long ago that my first purchases of their stuff was on 45s, lps to then 8 tracks. I have a very good Guess Who LIVE Cd in my collection.
Recall that well. Did you by any chance ever see a kind of cross btween a Hardware store and a Big Lots style place called Ben Franklin Stores?I remember as a kid in the 70s, you could buy records everywhereAll the drug stores, grocery stores, and convenience stores always had a rack of 45s. Not very many I remember had albums. Sometimes when we'd be at the grocery store, and I'd see a 45 I liked from hearing it on the radio, my mom would buy it for me. I think they were maybe 25 cents or 50 cents each. At the most, maybe a dollar.
My grandmother would always go to the "variety store", and they'd have a rack of 45s.
Yes!! I loved the Ben Franklin store!! I remember it having lots of cool toys!! If I remember correctly, it was right next to the service station my dad's friend owned, where he'd always get gas. They'd pop the hood, check the oil, tires, wiper fluid, etc. This was always on Saturdays, and after that, we'd always go to Ben Franklin.Recall that well. Funny memory, I remember when they'd air up the tires, I'd always want to be sitting in the car to see if I could feel it raising up higher in the air!
