What are you listening to right now?

I have been revisiting AMERICA the past couple weeks and enjoying their songs and performances greatly.
Old and new. Sadly, no Dan Peek now. He took the high harmony and had a Neil young like range - but with more purity He sang lead on Lonley People.

I Never knew the band was formed in England with Air Force brats ! The singer here is Dewey Bunnell, British born. He has a unique voice as heard on Tin Man. The John Denver looking dude is Gerry, He has that cutesy, child like - almost 'cartoon character' voice as hear on Sister Golden Hair and I need You.

Politely disagree. Maybe just my tastes in music.

I mean a few parts are better, but the Metallica cover is is too uuurg. Too fast. Not right. The "chorus" part sucks.

BOC original has a certain, old school differentiation. Slower on the edge, not in your face. Even the (original) guitar at 4:20 in rangyier.

And odd ass lyrics and emphasis.

Oddly "Career of Evil" is burrowed in my brain now. Worst earworm ever. Weird. Hope there is no cover!

Your criticism reminds me of my own of their cover of "Turn the Page". I love both the original and their cover, but as you note, they put their own spin on parts of it (and change some of the emphasis) and that really changes the song.

That whole album (Garage Inc.) which is a partial reboot of their Garage Days album, is cover material. Their cover of Tuesday's Gone is a collab.

I've gone full circle on this song. Loved-hated-love.

His voice sounds really good, for sure.
