I've only cooked a flat iron steak once, after hearing they were good. Mine sure turned out tough, so I never got brave enough
to buy another.

Maybe it was a tough piece of meat, or my lack of skills. Forget whether I used a marinade or not. I went back to ribeye.
Would like to try a good flat iron.

Just finished off my favorite snack, I have one of these almost every single day. And I’m down to a new low weight today, 170.2, which is down 0.7 from yesterday and 25.7 overall this year. Next goal should happen soon, 169.9 or less.

A couple of brats with extra sourkraut.

Edit: I love brats even more after someone told me how to cook them the "right" away. Brown them in a frying pan, add water and cover to finish cooking all the way through with steam so the outsides aren't overdone.

I definitely could throw down on that plate. Do yourself a favor and do everyone else a favor that lives in your homestead or pad or tent or whatever and make sure that you rinse prior then throw the can that that Kipper came from in an outdoor trash receptacle in a closed secure trash bag or you'll have every Alley Cat in a 50 mile radius. 😂
