What are you eating right now?

My favorite Mexican place in SE DC.

This will be tonight’s snack. Had lunch with dear mom at Route 68 feed mill. Had delicious baked chicken salad, and one of these. 2 come per order. Jalapeños too. Coffee and ice water. She had taco salad. $45 well spent and I left generous tip 😍😍😍

Your post would have earned. 😋😍 If the vegetables were cooked longer/caramelized. Very good looking chow, just wish they had sauteed the vegetables more
Let me express an inflammatory opinion. While browned/grilled/burnt/charred veggies taste good, good for you they may not be. Besides heat reducing valuable micros you also get a lot* of acrylamide. I try to eat half of the plant matter I consume raw and most everything else only cooked as much as necessary. I will brown onions and Brussels sprouts but in moderation.

* that's the opinion part where I should have written " unnecessary high amount of"

@Pablo
I will say strawberries plain with nothing else
Really clean up my vision. I don't wear glasses but my eyes get blurry now and then.
I'm going to renew my driver's license next month and before I go I'm eating a small bowl of strawberries 🍓
Try it...no sugar though

No sugar other than the strawberries.......powdered heavy cream. You should try it!

Right now I'm taking a break and making a shopping list to pickup on the way home.

My wheat and dairy allergic daughter is away for the night so I think tonight I'll make breakfast for dinner with all the things I never get to make... buttermilk biscuits and gravy (sausage and milk), fried apples, and a cheesy egg dish of some sort. Maybe a frittata or a quiche.

I only had chips and dip the neighbor lady gave me. I did add some hot Salsa on top. Warmed up my mouth! :) Grapes and cantaloupe for dessert.

I have never tried powdered cream. I am not fond of powdered milk. How is the taste, Pablo?
Taste is good.

First of all it doesn't STINK of evaporated powdered dry non-fat milk. That stuff gives me the - dry - heaves.

Here's the good and bad wrap up:

Bad:

1) It does NOT instantly dissolve in hot watery beverages. Of course this isn't a problem when sprinkling on fruit or in baking, etc. Kinda irritating in coffee as a creamer. I suspect because the high fat and no fake emulsifiers and such. I get around this for my personal use: I have a mix when I make my chocolate coffee of inulin, allulose, organic cacao powder and heavy cream powder. Mix these thoroughly breaking any and all clumps. Then regardless of coffee going in or boiling water, everything seems to dissolve together. People gripe about this in reviews, rightly so, but non thinkers the lot of them.

2) It has a very slight milk powder smell. I mean really light if you stick your nose in the bag. But nothing deterring IMHO

Good:

1) Taste is rich and lactose sweet.

2) Rich and creamy

3) Portable and storable

4) Very useful in all sorts of recipes to add body and cream. Even breads and such
