Got it. So only eat the peel if picked on a deserted island.@Jdeere562, nutrionally speaking, the skin of an apple contains the majority of the beneficial micro nutrients. For example, the skin contains more than 3x as much Vitamin K as the rest of the apple. As far as citrus goes, I like to eat the pith and some of the skin for the same reason. Obviously, you should not eat the skin of fruit that has been sprayed with pesticides.

Used to eat them raw as a kid, now I don't handle them well for some reason. Love them minus the skins.
