What are you eating right now?

1) Never knew they could do it on the spot.
They have a small desktop machine. Spits out the result in 5 minutes.
2) Dude. Awesome.
I have been making a conscious effort since my early 20s and I was doing great before then. While I strongly believe in genetics, I am convinced lifestyle contributes more than 50% to the state of most people's health - except when they are dealt a really crappy genetic card or an illness. I have a friend who used to be super healthy, fit, and living clean. Then he got leukemia. The chemo cured him of the cancer but gave him Parkinson's. He's had it for 14 years and can walk only 30 feet or so. But cases like that are not the norm. Most people can dramatically improve their odds of a healthy and long life with a tailored lifestyle. I see the old "We are all going to die anyway" and "Fate is unpredictable" as excuses for taking the initially easiest route. The chickens always come home to roost. What people cannot do is undo the damage they have done over years or decades even if that's what's often promised to them. Who would proclaim on their deathbed "I really wish I had let myself go more"?

Nice.

The nasty thing about low grade diabetes/pre/insulin resistance is you really don't know you have it. I didn't feel bad. I wasn't fat. My BP is fine. Pretty active. Until a doc said I should get my A1c checked I was walking into a land mine. All the nasty diabetes/hyperinsulinemia stuff kind of steam rolls a person later. I've written the steps I took elsewhere, no sense repeating - but all in my control obviously.

Now imagine someone who's let himself or herself go for 10, 20, or 30 years. Metabolic syndrome, fatty liver, CVD, and so on. It's a slippery slope. Then there's entropy. In 10 years I may have metabolic problems, liver, or kidney issues, dementia, etc out of nowhere. But I'll do what I can to maintain my health. I don't want to end up having to blame myself for my condition.

All my daughters loved mac n' cheese. They used to put an absolute butt ton of black pepper on it. But those girls had burping contests too. Don't say I mentioned that in public. They will only say they didn't participate.......hahahhahaha

I had a mummified rat stuffed with ham and parmesan earlier today. Avo and tomatoes on the. A slice of toast with my cranberry-blueberry spread. Almost gone - high time to make more.

Now I'm having half a pitaya/dragon fruit. That's the fruit of pipe cactus and not to be confused with tuna/prickly pear from an opuntia.

Waste treatment plant on speed dial!!
Mustachioed and ill-tempered HR lady has a megacolon*. You can't even begin to imagine the damage she has done and keeps doing to the bathroom and the staff at the office.

*Probably a misdiagnosis on my incompetent part. Her droppings rival that of large herbivores yet she's a carnivore.
